Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to play a supportive role in the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components within TOCA. This position plays a crucial role in the development and enhancement of mechanical aspects related to soccer technology products. This role will work out of our Costa Mesa office primarily, with occasional work out of the Irvine warehouse.  

Role Scope & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to contribute to the design process of mechanical systems or products.
  • Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed 2D and 3D models of mechanical components.
  • Conduct analysis and simulations to evaluate the performance, safety, and reliability of mechanical systems.
  • Assist with in-house production and service of TOCA equipment.
  • Aid in the development and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, presentations, and Engineering drawings.
  • Interface effectively with management, customers, and engineering team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that may arise during the development or testing phases.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Previous experience playing, coaching, or working in the soccer industry is preferred
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), knowledge of engineering principles, and familiarity with relevant analysis tools.
  • Experience in designing robotic systems, fabrication, or machine shops.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail in design, analysis, and documentation.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and learn from more experienced team members.
  • Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines.
