Job Summary
The Total Rewards Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for both Full-Time and Part-Time staff, as well as the Club’s Next Pro team. This role supports payroll operations, benefits administration, reporting, and compliance, while serving as a key liaison between the Finance, Human Resources, and team personnel. The ideal candidate brings a high level of detailed orientation, discretion, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic sports organization.

Job Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
  • Process biweekly payrolls for Full-Time, Part-Time, and Next Pro players, in compliance with the Club’s payroll calendar and all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage payroll onboarding for new Next Pro players.
  • Oversee timecard approval processes to ensure timely submission.
  • Partner with the Finance team to prepare and post payroll journal entries, research direct deposit bounce backs, and investigate bank entries.
  • Collaborate with HR to verify accuracy of all new hires and employee data in the HRIS system.
  • Assist in forecasting and budgeting for annual payroll costs.
  • Audit payroll processes for accuracy and compliance.
Reporting & Reconciliation
  • Prepare, run, and review reports for each pay period, including payroll registers, GL summaries, employee earnings, and 401(k) contributions.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as documentation needed for audits.
  • Develop regular internal audit criteria and schedule to ensure clean and accurate HRIS data
Employee Support & Communication
  • Promptly and professionally respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and timekeeping.
  • Guide staff and managers on payroll policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address payroll-related matters.
  • Complete employment verifications as requested.
Benefits Administration
  • Manage employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, COBRA, and voluntary benefits.
  • Administer benefit enrollment and updates for MLS Next Pro, new hires, transfers, and rehires, ensuring compliance with all plan documents and legal requirements.
  • Track FMLA, Medical, and Parental Leave applications and entry into the HRIS
Completion of other duties as assigned.
 
Skills & Qualifications
·       Minimum of 1 year of payroll processing, analysis, and/or HRIS administration experience.
·       Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
·       Familiarity with benefits administration and payroll-related deductions
·       Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
·       Experience with HRIS systems (Paycor preferred) 
·       Strong attention to detail and accuracy
·       Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
·       Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills
·       Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
