Job Summary:
The Performance Dietitian leads all nutrition programming for the First Team, developing strategies that enhance performance, recovery, and long-term health. This role goes beyond
fueling — it shapes daily habits and lifestyle behaviors that help players thrive on and off the field. The ideal candidate is a proactive, collaborative team member who brings positive energy, builds strong relationships, and contributes to a connected, high-performing department culture. This is a full time, salary - exempt position. 
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
Nutrition & Player Support:
• Design and deliver individualized and team-wide nutrition plans that support performance, recovery, and overall health.
• Provide one-on-one consultations addressing fueling, hydration, body composition, and lifestyle improvement.
• Utilize InBody and POC biomarkers (via Orreco) to monitor player readiness and recovery.
• Oversee daily fueling, hydration, and recovery nutrition for training, matchdays, and travel.
• Support injured players with targeted nutrition strategies for rehabilitation and return-to-play.
 
Collaboration & Integration:
• Partner with the Director of High Performance, Athletic Training, and Strength & Conditioning staff to align nutrition with broader performance objectives.
• Work closely with the Executive Chef and Culinary Team to translate nutritional goals into practical, flavorful meals.
• Hold regular meetings with the Head Chef and Culinary Team to drive culinary standards, consistency, and operational excellence.
• Be present and engaged during team meals to build relationships, reinforce habits, and offer on-the-spot guidance.
• Contribute to a collaborative, solution-focused department culture that values innovation, communication, and mutual respect.
 
Education & Innovation:
• Lead education sessions for players and staff on fueling, hydration, recovery, and healthy lifestyle habits.
• Apply emerging research and technology in sports nutrition and player monitoring.
• Manage the club’s nutrition budget, vendor relationships, and supplement program in compliance with MLS, USADA, and FIFA standards.
• Stay current with evolving trends in sports nutrition, behavior change, and recovery science.
 
Qualifications:
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) required.
• Master’s degree in Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, or related field preferred.
• CSSD certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in elite sport (professional, Olympic, or NCAA Division I).
• Experience with InBody, Orreco, and biomarker data preferred.
• Strong understanding of performance fueling, recovery, and lifestyle nutrition.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to work within a multidisciplinary high-performance team.
