POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of both Sounders FC, Reign FC and RAVE Foundation. This role is responsible for executing and improving core accounting functions, including monthly close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and compliance tasks. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and a clear communicator, capable of working across entities and departments to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and support organizational growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute the monthly close process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations in QuickBooks Online (QBO) across multiple entities.
- Reconcile all bank and balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Ensure proper coding of transactions to General Ledger accounts, departments, and matchday events.
- Support fixed asset tracking, depreciation schedules, prepaid schedules, accruals, and related entries.
- Assist with AP/AR functions and provide backup as needed for Bill.com, Concur, and other systems.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Support compliance activities, including preparation for annual financial audits and state/local tax filings.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of 1099s and management of vendor W-9 records.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with US GAAP.
- Collaborate with the Finance team on cross-functional projects, including process optimization and automation initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience; multi-entity experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and ability to apply it in day-to-day accounting.
- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems; QuickBooks Online (QBO) preferred.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Concur and Bill.com is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize competing statements of work across multiple business units.
- Demonstrates professionalism and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This is a hybrid position working remotely and from our Headquarters & Training Facility in Renton, WA.
- Employee must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

The annual salary range for this position is $78,000 - $90,000. The base salary at the time of offer will consider factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity and current market conditions.
