POSITION SUMMARY

The Head of Talent Acquisition will set the strategy and lead the execution for how we identify, attract, and secure the best talent to power our clubs. From building systems that allow us to scale, to developing pipelines for future leaders, to leading the most critical hiring decisions, you will ensure every hire raises the standard and strengthens our ability to perform. 

This role demands both vision and execution. You will influence executives on workforce priorities, shape an inclusive and disciplined hiring approach, and own the talent outcomes that define our future. The leader we seek understands that every hire is a competitive decision and will take pride in building the teams that allow Sounders FC and Reign FC to win on and off the pitch. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning  

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executives, ensuring talent acquisition directly supports growth and transformation. 
  • Anticipate demand and manage seasonal cycles through proactive workforce planning. 
  • Build sustainable pipelines via early-career, pathway, and community-rooted programs in partnership with RAVE Foundation, and external institutions. 
  • Ensure all workforce planning and hiring decisions raise the bar for talent quality and capability. 

 

Systems & Analytics 

  • Own and optimize the talent acquisition tech stack (Greenhouse ATS, HRIS integrations, sourcing tools, AI platforms) to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. 
  • Standardize equitable, high-quality processes across both clubs. 
  • Use analytics to measure success and impact of hires.  

 

Employer Brand  

  • Position Sounders FC and Reign FC as an employer of choice through a compelling EVP rooted in high standards and growth opportunities. 
  • Continuously improve our career site and digital channels to attract top talent. 
  • Expand visibility through authentic storytelling, social platforms, and professional networks, with clear metrics for reach and influence. 
  • Represent the clubs with MLS, NWSL, and in broader talent communities, positioning us as thought leaders at industry events, conferences, and strategic recruiting forums. 

 

Talent Acquisition Excellence 

  • Lead the full recruitment lifecycle for all roles, ensuring rigorous, equitable and inclusive hiring practices. 
  • Build pipelines for critical, hard to fill and leadership roles. 
  • Partner with hiring managers to embed structured, evidence-based decision-making. 
  • Coach leaders to uphold high expectations, select exceptional talent, and invest in their long-term growth. 

 

Employee Experience 

  • Design onboarding that immerses new hires in our mission, culture, and expectations from day one. 
  • Treat offboarding as a strategic experience, strengthening our alumni network and reinforcing our positive brand reputation. 
  • Translate onboarding and exit insights into retention strategies and employee experience improvements. 

 

Leadership & Culture 

  • Inspire and develop 1-2 direct reports while fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and accountability. 
  • Scale capacity during peak periods through thoughtful use of contract and temporary talent. 
  • Set ambitious and clear goals, provide actionable feedback, and celebrate excellence. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Proven ability to build and scale TA functions that raise organizational performance. 
  • Experience designing recruitment systems that improve measurable outcomes. 
  • High emotional intelligence with ability to build trust and to influence and coach leaders at all levels. 
  • Demonstrated success in inclusive hiring with measurable results. 
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability inspire confidence internally and externally. 
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled recruitment tools and technology to improve process efficiency, candidate experience, and data-driven decision-making 
  • Proficiency in ATS platforms (Greenhouse preferred) and recruitment analytics. 
  • Knowledge of relevant employment laws and compliance standards. 
  • Experience in sports, entertainment, or hospitality preferred but not required. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

  • Hybrid role: Expected to work in person at our Renton training facility 3–4 days per week. 
  • Employee must reside within Washington state upon date-of-hire.  
  • Local travel required; occasional domestic travel for industry events or recruiting initiatives. 
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship 

 

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & PERKS

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $175,000. Base salary at time of offer is based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal equity, and current market conditions.
