 The Senior Manager, Community Impact Operations serves as the operational lead for the Community Impact Team. They are responsible for building, managing, and continuously improving the operational systems, processes, and infrastructure that enable SDFC’s Community Impact initiatives to scale effectively and sustainably. Reporting directly to the VP, Community Impact, this role focuses on supporting grassroots football programming, community impact initiatives, non-profit partners, fundraising efforts, and cross-functional project execution. The Senior Manager partners closely with the Director, Football Growth and Senior Director, Community Impact to ensure programs are delivered with consistency, accountability, and operational excellence. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, process development, project management, relationship management, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to bring structure to complexity, anticipate needs, and drive execution across multiple initiatives simultaneously.

 Community Impact Operations & Execution 
  • Support operational planning and execution across Community Impact initiatives, ensuring programs, events, and partnerships are delivered effectively, within budget, and on schedule.  
  • Support department-wide timelines, project plans, deliverables, and operational workflows.  
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, consultants, facilities, registrations, permits, waivers, credentialing, and logistics across Community Impact initiatives.  
  • Serve as a central operational resource for the Community Impact team, ensuring strong communication, accountability, and follow-through across projects.  
  • Co-own the hiring, onboarding, and management of part-time staff, contractors, and 
    program support personnel as needed 
  • Co-own matchday activations, community events, football programming, and stakeholder 
    engagements as required. 

Systems, Process Improvement & Administration 
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve systems, workflows, tools, and operational standards that support department effectiveness and scalability. 
  • Create and maintain operational playbooks, documentation, templates, and best practices. 
  • Lead implementation and optimization of registration platforms, CRM systems, scheduling tools, reporting systems, and other operational technologies. 
  • Establish processes that improve communication, reduce friction, and strengthen accountability across programs and partners. 
  • Identify operational gaps and proactively implement solutions that improve efficiency and program quality. 

General Operations & Fundraising Support 
  • Support the ongoing development and operational management of the San Diego FC Community impact Fund and any future non-profit operations. 
  • Coordinate Fund administration, fundraising materials, meeting preparation, documentation, and operational processes.
  • Support donor cultivation, stewardship, fundraising campaigns, special events, and philanthropic initiatives. 
  • Assist with any grant administration, reporting requirements, impact documentation, and funding-related communications. 
  • Maintain donor and fundraising records while ensuring accurate tracking of commitments, deliverables, and outcomes.
  • Partner with the VP, Community Impact on non-profit engagement strategy and philanthropic growth opportunities.

Measurement, Reporting & Strategic Support 
  • Develop and maintain systems that track participation, operational performance, budgets, stakeholder engagement, and program outcomes across Community Impact initiatives. 
  • Produce dashboards, reports, presentations, and evaluation materials that support decision-making and strategic planning. 
  • Manage budget tracking, expense reconciliation, and resource allocation processes in partnership with department leadership. 
  • Support annual planning, fundraising and impact reporting, and departmental goal tracking. 
  • Translate data, feedback, and operational insights into actionable recommendations that strengthen programs and improve department performance. 
  • Help foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous learning and operational excellence across the Community Impact team and community coaches 

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in non-profit operations, program management, or community-based work; experience within youth programs, nonprofits, civic organizations, sports or adjacent fields strongly preferred 
  • Demonstrated success building and managing operational systems across multi-program environments 
  • Strong experience with program measurements, reporting and evaluation frameworks 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience managing external facing communications and stakeholder relationships 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience working across complex, multi stakeholder environments with professionalism, warmth, and follow-through
  • Direct experience in or genuine familiarity with underserved communities and youth programming environments 
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as programming requires 
  • Based in San Diego, CA with reliable personal transportation across the county 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

  • Ability to anticipate needs, identify operational gaps, and proactively implement solutions. 
  • Experience supporting fundraising operations, donor stewardship, grant administration, and foundation activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management platforms, CRM systems, registration platforms, and data management tools. 
  • High attention to detail with strong follow through and accountability. 
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands on execution. 
  • Passion for community impact, youth development, football, and creating systems that enable meaningful and measurable outcomes.
