POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Facilities and Operations, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general facility support across the Performance Center campus and residential academy.

This position supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of athletic, academic, residential, and administrative facilities. The Maintenance Technician performs routine troubleshooting and repairs involving building systems, equipment, furnishings, and infrastructure while maintaining a high standard of service for athletes, students, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance professional with experience across multiple trades, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs across campus facilities, including but not limited to training areas, locker rooms, dormitories, classrooms, library spaces, dining areas, and offices.
- Address residential maintenance needs such as plumbing fixtures, lighting, appliances, furniture, doors/locks, and general room repairs in residential environments.
- Conduct regular inspections of residential and academic spaces to ensure safety, and proper functionality.
- Respond to and troubleshoot maintenance requests in a timely manner; escalate more complex problems as needed. Assist with 3rd party vendor oversight as needed.
- Support upkeep of specialized athletic and performance equipment under guidance.
- Participate in training and mentorship programs to enhance troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills.
- Maintain workspaces, equipment, and maintenance carts in a clean and organized manner.
- Identify and operate shut-off valves and controls for building systems and utilities.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and coordinate ordering of parts and materials as needed.
- Perform general upkeep duties including cleaning of maintenance areas, waste removal, and exterior campus upkeep.
- Assist as needed with room turnovers, furniture moves, and seasonal or operational transitions within residential and academic buildings.
- Support event setup and breakdown for campus activities, training sessions, or academy functions.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships across all departments.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and all applicable health and safety standards.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, under guidance.
- Participate in safety programs, training, and emergency response procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2+ years of facilities, building, property, or maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving routine facility issues independently.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to utilize work order management systems, mobile devices, and email.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a commercial, hospitality, educational, residential, sports, or campus environment.
- OSHA 10 certification or equivalent safety training.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Trade school certification, vocational training, or technical coursework.
- Experience supporting dormitory, multifamily, hotel, or residential housing operations.
Technical Skills
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Plumbing fixture installation, repair, and drain maintenance.
- HVAC preventative maintenance and filter replacement.
- Carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and general building repairs.
- Preventative maintenance planning and execution.
- Equipment and building systems inspections.
