SUMMARY:
As Equipment Manager for the Utah Royals, you are responsible for daily equipment/gear set-up and breakdown of training, game, and locker room for the Utah Ryals both home and away. Participates in the purchasing, storing, repair, and replacement of all team equipment as well as transportation and inventory. This position will work out of the Zions Bank Real Academy practice facility in Herriman, UT.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Procures team apparel, equipment, and supplies to ensure players have all the supplies needed to perform during training and games.
- Prepares the locker room to ensure players have all the equipment needed for games and training.
- Maintains accurate inventory of team apparel, equipment, and supplies, providing updates to coaching staff regarding equipment status and needed repairs or purchases before a shortage occurs.
- Manages the use of assets at all team appearances, practices, and games.
- Ensure all team equipment is prepared and available for use by the team.
- Distributes equipment to players ensuring they are in good operational condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ year of previous experience managing equipment for a collegiate, or professional sports team.
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent people skills including verbal and written communication and the ability to exercise good judgment.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and ability to prioritize responsibilities and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends to accommodate the teams’ schedule and events.
- Ability to travel with the team to away games.
- Ability to pass a background check and become Safe Sport certified.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in professional soccer.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 40 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, etc.
