SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Player Health and Performance to lead a unified, world-class player care platform across all clubs within the organization. This role will direct and oversee all facets of sports medicine, sports performance, and sports science across the men’s, women’s, and youth professional pathways. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
·        Lead and manage the integrated Elite Health and Performance Department across Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals, and    Real Monarchs
·        Build a collaborative EHP Department that delivers elite player health and performance services
·        Oversee daily operations related to sports medicine, strength & conditioning, performance science, mental              performance, nutrition, and rehabilitation
·        Drive collaboration between the EHP and technical departments to build elite tactical periodization frameworks
·        Develop and maintain a player-centric and inclusive culture, aligning department goals with the Club’s core values
·        Mentor and develop a diverse, multidisciplinary staff, providing leadership development opportunities and supporting career progression
·        Establish consistent performance and care protocols across all teams and levels
·        Guide the safe integration of youth players into professional environments
·        Ensure a deep understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse cultural backgrounds of players, particularly within Utah’s youth soccer landscape
·        Represent and communicate the department’s vision, mission, and values to stakeholders across the organization
·        Create a high-performing, player first culture to support an elite player health and performance identity
·        Establish a collaborative culture that defines the way the EHP department integrates with the technical teams
·        Lead, develop and mentor player health and performance practitioners across all of Utah Soccer
·        Develop internal and external relationships that provide high powered innovation that drives player health and performance standards 
·        Build a collaborative EHP Department that delivers elite player health and performance services
·        Assist academy staff in the evolution of youth development at RSL Academy, with the goal of setting global standards   for fostering talent
·        Facilitate clear roles and responsibilities for all EHP team members and provide the support they need to be excellent
·        Work collaborative to support the creation of collaborative tactical periodization modes across all sports environments
·        Work collaboratively to support athletic development models across all sporting environments
·        Work collaboratively with relevant departments to create the RSL Academy playbook on athletic development pathways
·        Work collaboratively with relevant departments to create the playbook for the medical management of players across all of Utah Soccer and oversee its implementation
·        Work collaboratively with the Director of Performance Data Science to produce analyses and reports that guide high level decision making for the EHP Department across all of Utah Soccer
·        Provide support and resources for the development of holistic mental performance services across all of Utah Soccer
·        Provide clear, consistent, and accurate communication with all relevant stakeholders regarding the health and   performance status of all players across all of Utah Soccer
·        Oversee the creation of a day-to-day player movement system that keeps players safe and thriving
·        Ensure compliance with all team and league mandates

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONs:
·        Master’s degree or higher in related sports medicine, sport science or sports performance fields.
·        Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in an elite 1st team sporting environment leading player health and performance department
·        Relevant experience in elite female and male first team environments
·        Relevant experience in youth development
·        A strong appreciation and understanding of human performance disciplines outside of your own discipline of study
·        Work experience must demonstrate a history of being naturally player-centric and having the confidence to challenge  the team when behavior threatens culture
·        Multi-lingual abilities highly recommended (Spanish in particular, highly recommended)
·        Highly inclusive and collaborative, the ideal candidate must be able to recognize and maximize the diverse skill sets around them 
·        History of being a great communicator who can create alignment around a department philosophy.
·        Accountable to the group, and willing to take ownership, they must be willing to be on the receiving end of difficult conversations
·        Must be someone who can message the organizations Vision, Mission and Values through their actions and their words
·        A strong understanding of the key characteristics of high-performing teams

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·   History of understanding and thriving under the tempo of an elite high-performance environment (MLS and NWSL) 
 
 PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 50 pounds or exerting heavy force in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing etc.
