SUMMARY:
The Head of Video Analysis for the Real Monarchs is a full-time position responsible for supporting the Real Monarchs Head Coach and coaching staff, while reporting to the Director of Video Analysis.
Primary responsibilities include capturing, coding, and logging all training sessions; conducting opposition scouting; and educating the coaching staff on the effective use of the club’s Hudl platforms. The role also requires strong collaboration in the creation and distribution of scouting reports, video highlights, and presentations for both past and upcoming matches.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
- Film, code, and log Real Monarchs training sessions as assigned.
- Conduct post-match analysis of individual and team performance.
- Deliver performance analysis and evaluations to players, coaching staff, and other relevant personnel.
- Analyze upcoming opponents and prepare scouting information for the Real Monarchs Head Coach.
- Utilize performance analysis tools and software, including Hudl, Sportscode, Studio, Wyscout, Statsbomb, and related platforms.
- Operate and maintain all club audiovisual and video equipment (Hi-Pod, drones, cameras, and other AV systems).
- Manage the operation, care, and maintenance of the club’s Mavic Air 2S drones.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Real Monarchs Head Coach and coaching staff.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently while effectively responding to guidance and direction.
- Comply with MLS NEXT Safety and Well-Being policies and all other applicable child-safety protocols provided by Real Salt Lake.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Prior experience working within a professional club or collegiate athletics program.
· Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to adapt and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in managing, distributing, and organizing large video files and databases.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
· Experience using data and performance analysis software, including video tagging and telestration tools.
· Proficiency in Microsoft applications, along with a strong understanding of current technologies and a commitment to staying aligned with industry best practices.
· Demonstrated experience editing, tagging, and sharing video content via the Hudl platform.
· Strong tactical and technical football knowledge, with the ability to identify and categorize key moments in video and data, and provide clear, professional insights to staff.
· Experience operating drones, camcorder systems, and performing live coding.
· USSF National B License or higher.
· A strong sense of accountability and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 5 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 15 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, etc.
