JOB TITLE:  Senior Manager, Partnership Sales – City Football Group
DEPARTMENT:  Partnership Sales                                                                      

The Senior Manager, Partnership Sales will join the Partnership Sales team in New York to work on developing commercial opportunities for the CFM properties across Americas Markets including key projects supporting:
  • City Football Group
  • City Football Academy
  • Club Partnerships across Americas or with Americas based organizations
  • Presenting Partner Packages
  • Other ad hoc based projects

Reporting to the Head of Partnership Sales, this role will focus on three key areas:
  1.  Sales Delivery (Primary Focus)
    a. Develop a thorough understanding of the categories and markets under your remit to understand CFM’s commercial opportunities
    b. Identify potential commercial partners for MCFC, and CFM Properties 
    c. Work and plan to deliver targeted sales objectives (individual and team)
    d. Prepare sales propositions, generate business cases and sales planning 
    e. Deliver on set commercial targets and strategic projects
    f. Develop strong relationships with prospective new clients and industry network to maximize revenue streams and explore other initiatives that offer CFM clubs brand and media presence across key markets
    g. Engage with leading brands across key global & regional categories to establish new partners 
    h. Explore creative new initiatives that will enhance partners engagement with their customers as part of the partnership sales process
  2. Networking:
    a. Develop and maintain good relationships across the sports markets in Americas, including but not limited to brands, football clubs, football federations, sports marketing agencies, advertising agencies, media, and PR companies.
    b. Develop direct relationship with brands and key organizations that are existing or potential partners of the City Football Group
  3. Brand Development Initiatives (Secondary Focus)
    a. Contribute to the development of new initiatives that increase our engagement with existing and new MCFC fans through creative partnerships 
    b. Support the Business Development team with in-market knowledge, insight, and sales activity to secure revenue for strategic projects such as: Telecom Partnerships and Industrialized Sponsorship

  • Own, drive and deliver results for key categories assigned and consistently achieve the commercial revenue targets set by line manager and the group’s CEO
  • Work alongside other key category managers from the sales team to drive commercial opportunities across these sectors and other sectors for the group properties
  • Provide weekly updates on team sales meeting showcasing activity and pipeline development, business closed and share any insight to other potential collaboration with sales team members
  • Develop, manage, and refine the commercial strategy for the markets and categories under your remit with the support of the line manager and other category managers
  • Proactively search and find new revenue streams (Partnership focused for all CFM properties)
  • Daily utilization of Salesforce and other club specific sales management systems (CRM) as well as design / sales presentation tools
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence department to provide support with key market, competitor information and specific partnership valuation to identify local market trends, brand relevance and opportunities across all categories
  • Manage and develop Partnerships proposals in line with the club’s international strategy plan and prioritize projects

  • 5-7 years of experience in partnership sales; sports and entertainment industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, or related field
  • Experience in a rights-holder or club environment
  • Sound knowledge of the global and local soccer/football landscape
  • Familiarity with sports/ soccer sponsorship contracts and rights packages
  • Highly skilled in all aspects of partner/client service
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong work ethic, team-oriented attitude, and enthusiasm about contributing to the success of the department and club
  • Well organized with consistent attention to detail
  • Self-directed and proactive
  • Flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced working environment
  • Broad commercial acumen
  • Familiarity with local landscape (culture and business)
