JOB TITLE: Manager, Operations
REPORTING TO: Director, Operations and Match Day Security

LOCATION: New York, NY (Hybrid - 3 days in office)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Manager, Operations will assist with the planning, developing, and implementation of protocols and best practices for the home matches for New York City FC and other events as assigned. This position will collaborate with departments across the organization along with venue contacts, external vendors and clients. The Manager, Operations will work to ensure all elements are in place to provide the best game day experience for all guests and staff attending NYCFC home matches and various other events.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Responsible for organizing, coordinating, and providing support to all applicable departments to ensure the safe and seamless execution of events
- Serve as the main point of contact with the client, overseeing the coordination and production for all assigned events
- Serve as the primary POC for internal departments to gather and disseminate event information in a timely manner
- Approve all event operation aspects both internal and external of the building including event set-ups and associated logistics
- Develop and implement event strategies that improve execution and provide additional value in a cost-effective manner
- Participate and lead all advance site visits, meetings and necessary walkthroughs for assigned events
- Conduct physical inspection of all areas of the stadium to ensure correct set up and guest safety for events as assigned
- Proactively identify potential event risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate issues
- Conduct thorough post-event evaluations, gathering feedback and creating detailed reports with recommendations for future process improvements
- Create, manage, and monitor detailed event budgets, tracking expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness
- Assist with developing protocols and processes for the new stadium, Etihad Park
- Assist with maintaining inventory and stadium setup for all operational items
- Assist with NYCFC II & Ford Classic matches as needed
- Traveling liaison of NYCFC supporters during certain road matches as needed
- Maintain professional knowledge by attending educational workshops and seminars
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Ideal candidate has Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in event management
- Experience showing professionalism expected around professional sports teams
- Ability to meet deadlines; accomplish work in order of priority; professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
- Some travel required
COMPENSATION:
This exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $75,000 - $77,000 and is not overtime eligible. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise.
