JOB TITLE: Head of Performance Analysis 
DEPARTMENT: Sporting  
REPORTING TO: Director, Player Personnel and Analysis 
DIRECT REPORTS: First Team Performance Analyst, Second Team Performance Analyst 
LOCATION: CFA New York (Orangeburg, NY) 
 
OVERVIEW: 
The Head of Performance Analysis is a leadership position within the sporting department that plays a pivotal role in shaping, delivering, and embedding performance analysis processes that support team and individual performance. This role requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills alongside exceptional football knowledge, with the ability to translate video and data insights into actionable information for coaches and players.  
 
WHAT YOU’LL DO: 
  • Leadership & Team Development 
    • Lead, mentor, and manage the performance analysis team: recruit, develop, and coach analysts to maintain a high-performance culture, proactive mindset, and strong delivery focus. 
    • Set clear objectives, workflows, and quality standards for the analysis team to ensure ongoing professional development. 
 
  • Analysis Strategy & Delivery 
    • Optimize performance analysis processes that support team performance and player development targets, focusing on impact, accuracy, and consistency. 
    • Oversee the creation and delivery of high-quality video and data-driven insights to the first team coaches and players, including: 
      • Opposition scouting reports 
      • Live, in-match feedback and halftime presentations 
      • Post-match feedback aligned with team and individual development plans 
      • Training session analysis 
 
  • Collaboration 
    • Partner closely with coaching staff, human performance, and data analysts to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to preparation and feedback for training and matches. 
 
  • Technology Management 
    • Stay up to date with the latest developments in performance analysis software and technologies. 
    • Manage and maintain the equipment and technology used for performance analysis throughout the club. 
 
WHAT YOU’LL BRING: 
  • 5+ years of work experience as a Performance Analyst at the professional level 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience leading an analysis team – setting strategic direction, managing workflows, and delivering high-quality analysis to coaches and players. 
  • Deep understanding of the technical and tactical demands of professional football, with the ability to translate video and data into meaningful insights.  
  • Proficiency with industry-standard analysis platforms like Hudl Sportscode, Hudl Studio, Statsbomb, Wyscout, Microsoft Office, Spiideo, etc.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Applicant must be able to comply with MLS NEXT Safety and Well-Being policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary 
  • Applicant must have a valid driver’s license 
 
COMPENSATION: 
This exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $100,000 – $110,000 and is not overtime eligible. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise.
