The Washington Spirit are seeking a Matchday host/emcee for the 2026 season and beyond. The host/emcee is a high-energy individual who will provide memorable experiences to Washington Spirit at each home match by enhancing the overall fan experience and entertainment value. The matchday host/emcee operates under the direction of the Events team and the Events Manager.

Auditions will be held on January 20th, 21st and 22nd

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the on-camera host during all Washington Spirit home matches
  • Memorize scripts and cue cards to deliver a smooth, engaging performance including PA reads, sponsorship activations, interviews, fan interactions and other in-game elements
  • Monitor the game flow and be able to improvise and adlib on the spot
  • Attend rehearsals where necessary and provide feedback to continually improve the overall matchday fan experience
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for the Washington Spirit while properly representing the organization in a professional manner at all times

Requirements:
  • The ideal candidates will reside locally.
  • Must be available for all home Spirit matches at Audi Field.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous host/emcee experience preferred
  • Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to adverse conditions
  • Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in support of matches and events.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to employment start date.

  • Mature, outgoing disposition when engaging fans, guests and supporters
  • Effective problem solver and flexible thinker who can operate confidently without regular, direct supervision.
  • Thrives in a team environment.
  • Passionate about the Washington Spirit, women’s soccer, and women’s sports and willing to continue learning and supporting the organization’s mission, values, and goals.
  • Excellent communication, collaborative, and customer service skills.
