The Washington Spirit is seeking a Community Impact Manager who will lead the club’s efforts to build meaningful connections across the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia communities. This role is responsible for developing and executing community engagement strategies that enhance brand affinity, deepen local relationships, and align with the organization’s mission and business objectives.
This role partners closely with internal departments, nonprofit organizations, community stakeholders, and the sporting operations team to deliver impactful programs and events that elevate the Spirit’s presence throughout the region.
The ideal candidate is a proactive relationship builder with strong event management skills, a passion for community impact, and the ability to translate strategy into engaging, measurable programs in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Program Development
- Lead the planning and execution of community outreach programs aligned with the organization’s mission and goals
- Expand and enhance community initiatives through strategic partnerships and cross-functional collaboration
- Develop compelling narratives and programming that strengthen the Washington Spirit’s connection to local communities
- Evaluate and analyze programs on an ongoing basis to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for growth
Partnership Management & Stakeholder Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with nonprofit organizations, community partners, and local stakeholders
- Expand the network of Washington Spirit community partners and identify new engagement opportunities
- Manage partner relationships, including funding considerations and ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and fulfillment of partner obligations
Event Execution & Matchday Activation
- Serve as the club’s on-site representative at community events and activations across the DMV region
- Coordinate event logistics, maintain detailed records, and provide recaps for all community activations
- Manage matchday community programs and oversee execution of related initiatives
- Coordinate player appearances and participation with community groups in collaboration with the sporting operations team
Revenue Growth & Strategic Support
- Support the growth of sponsorship and partnership revenue tied to community initiatives and events
- Develop community relations materials, including partner decks, one-pagers, and annual impact reports
- Create and manage systems for tracking community-related ticket allocations and engagement pipelines
- Monitor and manage budget spending across community programs
Qualifications & Experience:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated experience in event planning and program coordination
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
Preferred
- Experience working in professional sports, entertainment, or a community-focused organization
- Experience managing partnerships, sponsorships, or nonprofit relationships

Location:
This role is primarily based at our Falls Church, VA office, with frequent travel throughout the DMV region. Our front office team follows a hybrid arrangement.
