 We're hiring a Manager, Corporate Partnerships to impact new business development for our corporate partnership portfolio.  

As the Manager on the Corporate Partnerships team, you’ll report directly to the Head of Corporate Partnerships and is primarily responsible for assisting the sales effort of the corporate partnerships team to drive long term revenue of the team with local, regional and national companies.  The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day organization, prospecting, identification, sales and execution of corporate partnerships for the Washington Spirit.  

This role is ideal for someone who is ready to take the next step in their career path regarding corporate partnerships.  Best suited for a candidate that is eager and aggressive in creating introductions to the corporate community for the team and is passionate about the vision of the Washington Spirit.  To be successful, you will be confident in your approach and what the Spirit has to offer to the corporate community.  You’ll also be a team player and someone that can work across multiple departments to ensure complete “buy-in” for our corporate partners. 

The Manager, Corporate Partnerships will: 

  • Oversee the organization of the sales process/pipeline to drive sponsorship revenue for the team. 
  • Identify, source, and develop new partnership prospects on a national, regional, and local scale through research, benchmarking, and business intelligence across the market
  • Perform research and background information on prospective company targets for partnership
  • Where applicable, initiate the sales process for outreach and solicitation of partners
  • Lead preparation of prospective sales meetings including the creation of impactful sales proposals and presentation decks for interested companies
  • Establish a rapport with corporate partners
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders to build out fully integrated partnerships
  • Other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate has:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years in sponsorship sales with at least one (1) year of sales responsibility
  • History of being a top team performer for a sports and/or entertainment organization
  • Equivalent experience working in a leadership support role, preferably within corporate partnerships
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally and execute partnership programs
  • Strategic business planner with process-driven mindset and attention to detail
  • Strong passion for developing positive sales cultures and long-term growth of partnership team
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) in addition to other creative and research oriented resources (i.e. Blinkfire, Sponsor United, etc.)
  • Comfortable assisting sales meetings and having direct dialogue with decision makers for brands
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, provide your expert opinion, and be a team player to drive revenue results
  • Flexible and reliable teammate; always acting in the best interest of the department and the organization as a whole
  • Keen attention to detail, strong problem solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to maintain productive, positive relationships through strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, participative, and team concept skills
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of staff, clientele, and vendors
  • Must be able to manage schedule to achieve daily and weekly goals for deadlines, appointments, and meetings
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Location:

This role is primarily based at our Falls Church, VA office, with occasional work in Washington, D.C. Our front office team follows a hybrid arrangement, requiring presence in the office 3 days a week.
