The Washington Spirit is seeking a Coordinator, Retention and Growth who will support the development and execution of fan engagement, retention, and growth strategies through email marketing, web, and SMS. This position focuses on executing campaign tactics, managing digital operations, and providing data insights that help enhance fan experiences and drive revenue growth. The Coordinator will work closely with the Manager, Retention and Growth, and cross-functional teams to deliver campaigns that foster loyalty, increase digital touchpoints, and deepen the Spirit's connection to fans.

Key Responsibilities 

Web Content and User Experience Support 
  • Update and maintain website content under manager direction, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and brand consistency
  • Monitor website analytics and compile reports on traffic, engagement, and conversion metrics
  • Support the implementation of web optimization efforts (layout changes, personalization features, mobile improvements) through testing and documentation
  • Identify and surface content or UX issues to manager for prioritization
Email Campaign Execution 
  • Support deployment and quality assurance of email campaigns following established strategy and templates, including audience segmentation, content assembly, and send coordination
  • Maintain email calendar, track performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions), and report findings to manager
  • Coordinate with creative teams and cross-functional partners to gather content and assets for campaigns
Data Analysis and Reporting 
  • Regularly monitor campaign and web performance against established metrics and KPIs
  • Compile performance data into reports and dashboards for manager review
  • Surface trends or anomalies that may indicate optimization opportunities
Cross-Functional Collaboration 
  • Work with ticketing, merchandise, sponsorship, and content teams to gather information and coordinate campaign participation
  • Document and communicate campaign timelines and requirements to partners
  • Support integrated promotional efforts across email and web channels under manager guidance
Compliance and Tool Management 
  • Ensure all email campaigns comply with data privacy laws (GDPR, CAN-SPAM) and follow best practices
  • Maintain proficiency with email marketing platform and web CMS tools
  • Keep accurate records of campaign assets, performance data, and creative iterations

Qualifications & Experience 

Required 
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Business, Communications, or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in written communication
  • Organized approach to managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to follow processes and escalate issues appropriately
  • Comfortable learning new tools and platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred 
  • 1-2 years of experience in digital marketing, ideally including email marketing or content management
  • Demonstrated experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools (Google Analytics) and/or website CMS platforms
  • Experience with CRM or marketing automation tools
  • Familiarity with sports, entertainment, or membership-based organizations
  • Creative thinking about fan engagement tactics

Location 
This role is based in Falls Church, VA, with a hybrid work structure and frequent presence at matches in Washington DC.
