The Washington Spirit is seeking an Account Executive, Group Sales who will play a key role in driving attendance and revenue through the development and sale of group ticket experiences. This position focuses on building meaningful relationships across the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia communities, with a strong emphasis on the youth sports market.
This role is responsible for generating new business while cultivating lasting partnerships with local organizations including youth soccer clubs, schools, and community groups. The Account Executive will collaborate closely with internal teams to create engaging group programs that enhance the matchday experience and deepen the Spirit’s connection to the community.
The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional with a passion for sports, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Group Sales & Business Development
- Drive revenue through the sale of Washington Spirit group ticket packages, outings, and hospitality experiences
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and in-person meetings
- Build customized group programs that create value for partners and enhance the overall fan experience
- Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals while maintaining a high level of service
Relationship Management & Client Retention
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with group leaders, community organizations, and partners
- Retain, renew, and grow an existing book of business through consistent communication and engagement
- Deliver exceptional service to ensure a seamless and memorable group outing experience
Collaboration & Event Execution
- Partner with internal departments to execute group events and enhance the matchday experience
- Participate in sales events, networking opportunities, and community activations
- Work home matches and events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities within the CRM system
- Track outreach efforts, pipeline activity, and performance metrics to support sales strategy
- Support additional sales and service initiatives as needed
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive with a positive attitude
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
- Experience working in professional or collegiate sports
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Archtics and Ticketmaster
- Background in sales, customer service, or client-facing roles

Location
This role is based in Falls Church, VA, with a hybrid work structure and frequent presence at matches and events in Washington DC.
