ABOUT US 

The North Carolina Courage, a member of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to join our team. We hire people who help us work smarter, sharper, and more Courageous and this position plays a key role in shaping the in-stadium experience, bringing our collective work behind-the-scenes to the forefront for our fans each match day.

In this role, you will support the day-to-day execution of the North Carolina Courage’s social media presence. This role focuses heavily on content creation, social publishing, photography, and real-time coverage. The Coordinator will help bring the team’s voice to life across all platforms while assisting in planning, asset creation, and analytics tracking.  

This individual is creative, organized, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-moving sports environment where attention to detail and passion for storytelling are essential. 

This role reports to the Social Media Manager in the Strategic Communications Department. 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:   

  • Draft, schedule, and publish daily posts across all platforms in alignment with club voice and brand guidelines.  
  • Assist with content calendars by pitching ideas, gathering assets, and ensuring deadlines are met.  
  • Coordinate cross-department requests for social support (sponsors, community, ticketing, marketing).  
  • Engage the fan base via comments, messages, and posts to build a strong online community and encourage fan participation. 
  • Capture photo and video content at training, matches, community events, and team activities.  
  • Assist with editing social-first graphics, reels, and short-form video content.  
  • Support the organization’s photography workflow, including basic editing, tagging, and organizing digital assets. 
  • Assist in real-time matchday coverage, including content capture, posting support, and behind-the-scenes storytelling.  
  • Help produce post-match content such as galleries, highlight clips, and reaction posts. 
  • Work closely with the Social Media Manager and provide support on special projects, strategic campaigns, and tentpole moments.  
  • Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and staff when coordinating content in sensitive or high-pressure environments. 
  • Track daily and weekly performance metrics and assist in monthly reporting.  
  • Monitor trends, best practices, and platform updates; share ideas that enhance engagement. 

QUALIFICATIONS:   

Required Skills & Experience
 

  • 1–2+ years of relevant experience in social media, digital content, or related field.  
  • Strong grasp of social platforms, trends, memes, and digital storytelling styles.  
  • Photo/video skills and comfort with Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.  
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.  
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and matchdays regularly.
