ABOUT US 

The North Carolina Courage, a member of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), is seeking a Live Production Manager to join our team. We hire people who help us work smarter, sharper, and more Courageous and this position plays a key role in shaping the in-stadium experience, bringing our collective work behind-the-scenes to the forefront for our fans each match day.

In this role, you will help guide production through equipment expertise and knowledge of best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of broadcast control rooms and staffing to execute event production, hardware and software troubleshooting, and IT principles as they relate to broadcasts. This individual will possess strong communication and organizational skills and be able to work efficiently on short deadlines in high pressure situations, including balancing multiple projects simultaneously. 


This role reports to the Director, Live Production and Technology in the Game Day Excellence Department. 


KEY JOB RESPONSIBLITIES: 
 

  • Plans, strategizes and leads execution of live sporting event productions for the Courage’s in-venue video boards. Creates overall game presentation ROS, coordinates with internal departments for execution, and leads the ideation of game presentation elements and sponsor deliverables.  
  • Oversees the production of live events, with responsibilities including show calling, directing, technical directing, and operation of replay and graphics machines.  
  • Conceptualizes and assists in execution of overall in-venue branding and design. Generates new ideas and concepts to “level-up” the in-game experience for fans and partners. Works together with internal departments in terms of requirements, event schedules, and production needs to meet desired outcomes.  
  • Works closely with internal and external staff to ensure all sponsorship and marketing content is properly designed, displayed and executed on videoboards accurately and efficiently. Emphasizing attention to detail and adding value.  
  • Supports oversight of financial budget for daily operations, equipment, staffing and maintenance.  
  • Coordinates and supervises training and development of full and part-time staff, interns, and freelancers in proper control room and production techniques and best practices.  
  • Maintains technical knowledge needed to execute broadcasts to the specifications of league and department partners.   
  • Maintain basic knowledge of networking concepts including management of IP addresses and networking new devices. 

  
QUALIFICATIONS:   

Required Skills & Experience
 

  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast or Media Production, Communications, or a related technology field. 
  • 3+ years of multimedia experience inclusive of live event and broadcast production. 
  • Proficient in Ross Video production equipment including Xpression CG and Carbonite Switchers. Proficient in Click Effects Crossfire and Blaze products. Proficient with replay systems such as 3Play, Grass Valley K2 Dyno, and Evertz DreamCatcher. 

Preferred Skills & Experience
 

  • 2+ years of experience managing a team, including full-time, part-time, and temporary staff 
  • 2+ years of experience in a director or producer role 
  • Proactive problem-solving with the ability to effectively communicate problems and solutions to all experience levels.
