The North Carolina Courage, a member of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), is seeking a HRBP to join the People team.
This role blends business partnership with execution—working closely with managers to address employee-related matters while also ensuring HR systems, processes, and programs run effectively. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing people support with operational ownership in a fast-paced environment.

This role reports to the Chief People Officer in the HR/People team.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Partnership & Employee Relations
Business Partnership & Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted partner to department leaders across front office and technical staff
- Provide guidance on performance management, employee concerns, and team dynamics
- Support and manage employee relations issues, including coaching managers and documenting outcomes
- Escalate complex or high-risk issues to the Chief People Officer
HR Operations & Systems
- Own day-to-day management of Rippling
- Maintain accurate employee data and organizational structures
- Build and improve workflows (onboarding, approvals, employee changes)
- Ensure HR processes are consistent, documented, and scalable
Performance Management & Talent Processes
- Support the execution of performance review cycles and manager enablement
- Assist in maintaining performance frameworks (e.g., 9-box, review cadence, development plans)
- Ensure alignment between performance, development, and organizational goals
- Ensure all compliance-related documentation is completed accurately
Compliance & Policy Support
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and league (NWSL) requirements
- Maintain employee documentation and support policy implementation
- Promote consistent application of HR policies across the organization
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on hiring needs and workforce planning
- Collaborate with Workplace Experience Manager to support culture and communication
- Provide HR support to leadership as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3–6 years of experience in HR generalist or HRBP roles
- Sports experience preferred
- Experience handling employee relations and supporting managers
- Strong understanding of HR operations and systems (Rippling experience preferred)
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on, execution-oriented mindset
