The Berkley Riverfront development will extend the fabric of Kansas City directly to the water’s edge, providing a one-of-a-kind, pedestrian-focused experience for Berkley Riverfront residents, KC Current fans, and visitors alike. We are creating a new neighborhood for Kansas City, with over a thousand residential units and new public gathering and recreational spaces intended for all Kansas Citians – including a new town square and a riverfront promenade. Food and beverage offerings will create Kansas City’s culinary epicenter, showcasing world-class local and national chefs and creating a new destination for our city. The public gathering areas will be programmed year-round, with family-friendly events like movie nights, food festivals, fitness classes, live music, and more.
Who are we hiring?
We are seeking a Vice President, Experience charged with delivering a world-class, holistic experience that seamlessly connects every facet of our district: residential, retail, culinary, entertainment, and sports.
You will be the ultimate guardian of our brand promise, translating it into an operational reality that drives value and loyalty. You will focus on our residents and guests’ "door-to-door" journey, ensuring that the everyone’s experience in the district is intuitive, magical, and distinctly ours. You will partner with the Kansas City Current to ensure the stadium and district operate as a single, synergistic experience, creating a home-field advantage that is unmatched in professional sports.
What will you do?
Experience Ecosystem Integration:
- Implement a unified experience framework that integrates residential living, retail, dining, public spaces, security, transportation, and stadium operations into a single, cohesive narrative.
- Act as the primary executive liaison and strategic partner to the Kansas City Current leadership and development ownership, executing our long-term vision for fan engagement and community integration that extends far beyond game days.
- Serve as ombudsman to resolve all guest and tenant issues throughout our district.
- Oversee the design and implementation of physical and digital touchpoints, working closely with the Palmer Square Real Estate team, IT, and Marketing to ensure the environment itself delivers the intended experience.
- Establish Experience (CX) as a key performance indicator (KPI) across all departments, fostering a company-wide culture of experience ownership.
- Champion the experience mission throughout the entire organization, ensuring that all stakeholders —from leasing agents to security to retail partners — to become ambassadors of the brand.
Commercial Growth & Innovation:
- Leverage experience as a key driver of revenue: increasing residential retention, driving retail footfall, extending fan dwell time, and creating new monetization opportunities
- Utilize data and analytics to understand customer behavior, predict trends, and make informed investments in experience initiatives that deliver a strong ROI.
- Explore and introduce new technologies (e.g., AI, personalization platforms, smart district infrastructure) to enhance and personalize the guest journey.
What do you need to succeed?
- 6+ years of progressive leadership experience in executing customer/guest experience strategy (e.g., lodging, destination resorts, theme parks, high-profile retail brands, live entertainment venues, mixed-use commercial real estate developments, etc.).
- Demonstrable experience in:
- Executing experience strategies that have directly contributed to commercial success (increased revenue, retention, brand value)
- Serving as a key executive interface with high-profile partners
- Influencing a variety of stakeholders (public, private, and community) across disparate functions
- Exceptional financial and business acumen, with experience in P&L management or influence
- Bachelor’s degree required
Special requirements of the Job:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
- Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior executives.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time, often during events or facility setup and breakdown.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for event setup, equipment management, or assisting with operational needs.
- Requires occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead to handle various tasks related to facility management, equipment, and event preparation.
- Must be capable of working in physically demanding environments, including navigating stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms during venue conversions.
- Ability to work outdoors continuously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
