Who are we hiring? 
The Manager, Event Sales will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that maximize revenue in the area of venue rental and catering revenue for KC Current Stadium. Establishing and maintaining important relationships with the corporate community, private event planners, and the local tourism industry will be essential to the role’s success. The ideal candidate should have multiple years of direct sales experience, as well as an understanding of event operations and production. This innovative and creative dealmaker with a partnership-oriented mindset will generate memorable experiences for each guest of the venue.  

What will you do? 
  • Develop annual sales and marketing plans to maximize financial performance for private and special events at KC Current Stadium 
  • Build market awareness and drive leads through strategic sales campaigns; stay up-to-date on market trends, venue offerings, and local events to support continued growth
  • Partner with leadership and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to marketing, ticket sales and service, and corporate partnerships to develop cross promotional programs to maximize event revenue sales year-round Oversee the successful execution of high-profile and large-scale events, including but not limited to reviewing sales contracts, payment terms, and special considerations to ensure deliverables
  • Ensure successful transition of event logistics, expectations, and communication to KC Current Event Operations team to guarantee successful execution of events that meets client expectations
  • Update pricing models, refine packages, rate cards, and adjust revenue projections as required 
  • Responsible for daily revenue tracking, campaign management, and the regular communication of sales performance
  • Maintain open communications and effective collaborative relationships with our third party food and beverage operator and KC Current Stadium operations team
  • Organize documents for RFPs (Request for Proposal) and assist in completed all bid requirement in conjunction with local sports commission and tourism partners 
  • Establish standard operating procedures for Event Sales department including budget/forecasting, cost of goods, profitability, contract process, and invoicing 
  • Manage monthly and annual event calendar in conjunction with Stadium Operations staff
  • Other duties as assigned 
 
What do you need to succeed?
  • 5+ years of related experience, preferably in a high-volume sales or event management role
  • Ability to proactively prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously within time constraints and with strong attention to detail 
  • Must be creative and resourceful with excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change on a daily basis. 
  • Ability to effectively evaluate risks and liabilities of special events and venue rentals 
  • Ability to work both traditional and non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, holidays) as required.

Special requirements of the Job: 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
  • Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time sensitive matters with senior executives. Travel may be required – 10%
