Who are we hiring?
The Soccer Operations Intern plays a critical role in delivering world-class soccer experiences within the Kansas City Current ecosystem. This position is responsible for managing the logistics, operations, and execution of select matches, tournaments, and KC Current Alliance events. This includes youth clubs and tournaments, international clubs, and national federations.
This role requires extreme organization, logistics management and forward planning. The Soccer Operations Coordinator will serve as the primary operational liaison for all hosted KC Current tournaments, visiting hosted international teams and ensure seamless execution of event logistics.
What will you do?
- Support the planning and organization of all KC Current hosted tournaments including but not limited to Teal Rising Cup, KC Alliance Tournaments and elite showcases, etc.
- Coordinate all competition logistics, including but not limited to team arrivals, flights, ground transportation, accommodations, and training venues.
- Manage event-day operations for KC Current hosted tournaments, youth showcases and professional tournaments.
- Work cross-functionally with internal departments (venue operations, grounds, security, etc.) and external partners to execute successful events.
- Identify, source, and manage necessary venues and equipment to support talent id clinics, matches/tournaments and soccer development events.
- Create and manage detailed event schedules, match coordination and programming.
- Anticipate and solve logistical challenges in real-time with professionalism and efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
What do you need to succeed?
- Experience in event operations, logistics, or team services within sports, preferably soccer.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.
- Interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- A passion for delivering high-level team and fan experiences in a dynamic environment.
Special requirements of the Job:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
- Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior executives.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time, often during events or facility setup and breakdown.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for event setup, equipment management, or assisting with operational needs.
- Requires occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead to handle various tasks related to facility management, equipment, and event preparation.
- Must be capable of working in physically demanding environments, including navigating stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms during venue conversions.
- Ability to work outdoors continuously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
