Who are we hiring?
The Kansas City Current is hiring an API and Integrations Coordinator to support the day-to-day execution and reliability of our data integrations and automation pipelines that feed our analytics, CRM and operational reporting.

This is an early-career role designed for someone with 1-3 years of experience (or equivalent internship or project experience) who is comfortable working with APIs, structured data and technical troubleshooting while learning from a senior integration/data engineering lead. The Integration Analyst Coordinator will help ensure our data moves accurately and consistently between systems (ticketing, CRM, web/app, retail and league reporting) and will contribute to documentation, monitoring and continuous improvement.

As an applicant you should have:
  • Strong curiosity and comfort working with technical systems and data flows
  • Working knowledge of APIs (REST concepts, authentication basics, JSON payloads)
  • Baseline proficiency with SQL and/or data querying concepts
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve data issues
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams
  • A continuous improvement mindset (document it, stabilize it, then optimize it)

What will you do?
Integration Support & Monitoring
  • Monitor scheduled integrations and automated data jobs; identify failures and escalate appropriately
  • Perform first-line troubleshooting for pipeline breaks, API errors, and data mismatches
API & Data Operations
  • Support API-based data pulls/pushes (JSON parsing, field mapping, endpoint testing)
  • Assist with integration configuration changes, credential rotations, and environment updates (with oversight)
Data Quality & Standardization
  • Help validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across key systems
  • Assist in applying data hygiene practices (de-duplication, standard formats, basic transformation rules)
Pipeline Enhancements
  • Contribute to incremental improvements to existing pipelines and automations
  • Support the Integrations Lead with QA testing and release validation
Stakeholder Support
  • Partner with business users (ticketing, marketing, partnerships, finance, operations) to clarify requirements and confirm expected outputs
  • Provide basic support for downstream reporting needs by ensuring upstream data is stable
Documentation
  • Maintain clear documentation for integrations, data definitions, runbooks, and troubleshooting steps
  • Document field mappings and dependencies (what breaks what)
Compliance & Security
  • Follow best practices related to data access, credential handling, and privacy policies
Other duties as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

Educational and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data/Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in a data/integration/analytics support role, or a strong internship + project portfolio demonstrating:
  • API work, integrations, ETL concepts, CRM data flows, or automation workflows
  •  Experience in sports/entertainment/live events is a plus (not required)

Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs and JSON (reading payloads, identifying key fields)
  • Working proficiency in SQL (selects/joins at a minimum; ability to validate row counts and identify outliers)
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following (preferred, not required):
  • Azure Data Factory / Logic Apps / Functions
  • Power Platform (Power Automate, Dataverse, Dynamics 365)
  • Working scripting (Python preferred) for data checks or lightweight automation
  • Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots; ability to validate datasets quickly)

Team Member Abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through
  • Clear, proactive communication (especially when something is broken or at risk)
  • Ability to prioritize: “stop the bleeding” first, then fix root cause, then document

Soft Skills
  • Detail-oriented and quality-driven
  • Strong problem solving and calm execution under time pressure
  • Curious learner—willing to ask questions and improve quickly

    Special requirements of the Job:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
  • Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior executives.
