NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ. The Role:
We are seeking someone who constantly seeks to raise the bar and improve all services. We want someone who is going to project manage team experience, seeking to make improvements in all aspects, constantly keeping abreast of the latest developments across not only global soccer, but global sports, to ensure that Gotham FC is at the forefront. The Team Services Manager at Gotham FC will be a key member of the Operations Department, serving as the primary contact for all First Team players, soccer staff, and their families. This role involves providing operational support and ensuring a smooth transition for individuals joining, remaining with, and departing the Club. 

A strong understanding of both on and off-field requirements is essential to effectively manage all aspects of player and staff care, promoting their health, performance, and welfare within off-field work. The position will heavily focus on the day-to-day administration of player care, acting as a crucial link between players, soccer and business staff, and the wider Club.

This includes staying informed about the latest developments in global soccer and sports to ensure Gotham FC remains at the forefront of best practices. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Player and Staff Support: Act as the primary contact for all First Team players and staff regarding off-field matters, including housing, transportation, personal needs, and non-soccer activities. Serve as a trusted resource for player families and partners, assisting with relocation, transition, and off-boarding as needed. 
  • Relocation & Logistics Management: Coordinate all logistics for the relocation of First Team players and staff to and from New Jersey, ensuring a seamless experience. Provide specialized support for international players, including assistance with social security numbers, banking, and visa status. 
  • Operational Support: Assist with planning and executing individual travel logistics, such as air and ground transportation and hotel arrangements, including family travel when necessary. On game days, provide operational support to players and staff, managing family credentials, suite access, and other needs. 
  • Family & Partner Programs: Develop programs to help players and their families transition to the region, offering recommendations for local services and daily needs. Maintain consistent communication with families to ensure a positive off-field experience. 
  • Community & Event Coordination: Plan and execute social events for players, staff, and families to foster a strong sense of community within the club. Coordinate promotional, commercial, and media appearances for players and staff. 
  • Personal Development Initiatives: Support the development of off-pitch programs, including language education, aimed at cultivating world-class athletes and community members. 
  • General Operations & Administration: Assist the Operations Department with general club operations, initiatives, and the activation of player benefits and perks provided by the club and its partners. Manage the administration of club-provided benefits, such as vehicles. 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).  

  • Experience working within professional sport (required), within women’s sports and/or soccer (preferred). 

  • Passion for Women’s Soccer. 

  • Between 2 and 5 years of experience managing a variety of tasks in a customer or client-facing role. Experience in sports or entertainment operations is a plus.   

  • A sound understanding of athlete care and development at the professional level. 

  • Knowledge of the New York and New Jersey areas is preferred.

  • Bilingual required; Portuguese and Spanish proficiency is a plus.  

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Proven ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments and with diverse stakeholders. 

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a self-starter attitude.   

  • Availability for non-traditional work hours and frequent travel.

Location: 

This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, located in Whippany, New Jersey. Ability to attend all home games and any mandatory events as well as away games, as necessary.  A willingness to travel for other business-related needs, as they arise. Ability to work at the team’s business operations office in Jersey City, New Jersey, as needed. Gotham FC requires its associates to live in its market, that is, within reasonable commuting distance of Gotham FC’s offices, practice facility and Sports Illustrated Stadium.
