NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ. The Role:
The player pathway head coach will be responsible for the management of all development center players, staffs while overseeing the operations and structure of the environment. This position will also be responsible for supporting and maintaining a strong connection with our 1st team staff, style of play, and methodology.
Key Responsibilities:
Generic Duties
- Oversee management of day-to-day development center operations
- Oversee and manage staff, roles and responsibilities
- Support & connect with the 1st team on a weekly basis
- Support the director in future program growth and key decisions
- Support the director in staff future hiring process
- Maintain good standing with NWSL, USSF, and other national team federations
- When necessary:
- Assist with pre-approved added 1st team duties
Specific Duties
Administrative
Administrative
- Be the main point of contact between 1st Team and the Pro Player Pathway (PPP)
- Upkeep the 1st Team calendar updates into the PPP staff calendar
- Maintain and update exercise/activity database
- Maintain clean and accurate records of all training sessions and game data
- Complete quarterly technical staff and support staff review meetings
Development Center
- Lead a positive, enjoyable, competitive environment that supports the individual development within the context of the team
- Lead the planning and delivery of all training sessions
- Assign and manage all staff roles/responsibilities for training and games
- Lead the decision making for all game planning, line ups and minute planning
- Lead and manage the team with honesty, transparency and accountability
- Manage and adjust the delivery of an optimal training environment
- Collaborate with the Director of Youth Player Development in the organization of our curriculum, game ideas and principles of play
- Collaborate with the Director of the Pro Player Pathway on player assessment, future participation and 1st team readiness
- Support the Director of the Pro Player Pathway on player admission and release from the program
Required Qualifications:
- Hold US Soccer A license of UEFA equivalent
- 8+ years coaching experience in the elite youth, collegiate or professional setting
- 5+ years of experience coaching elite level U18 female players
- SafeSport certified and compliant
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Location:
This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, currently located in Whippany, New Jersey. The person must be able and willing to attend all Gotham FC home games, away games and other business-related travel. Gotham FC requires its employees to live in its market, that is, within reasonable commuting distance of Gotham FC’s office, practice facility and Sports Illustrated Arena
