NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ.
The Role:
Gotham FC is seeking enthusiastic, energetic Hype Crew Members to be part of our matchday event & activation team, who will report to our Producer, Game Presentation. The ideal candidate will be an essential part of creating an incredible, unforgettable experience for our fans. They will bring to life our matchday activations, bringing a dose of Gotham FC magic with them to their role at each home match. Our Hype Crew Members thrive working in a fast-paced, energetic environment, are high-energy and naturally outgoing, have the ability to multi-task, possess a positive and approachable demeanor, and always strive for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep the crowd hyped throughout the match by leading cheers/chants, celebrating big plays, and helping create a fun, electric atmosphere in the stands and concourse.
- Engage directly with fans of all ages by taking photos, interacting with fans, and creating memorable moments during breaks in play.
- Execute t-shirt tosses, prize handouts, and other fan-facing promotions safely and with enthusiasm.
- Assist the in-game host, performers, and field producers during promotions, pregame and halftime shows, and other entertainment moments.
- Help set up and run in-match promotions. Ensure participants are prepared and activations run smoothly.
- Follow cues from the Game Presentation team and field producers to stay on timing and maintain flow.
- Manage and distribute props, signage, or sponsor materials needed for prematch or in-match activations and entertainment features.
- Be a visible extension of the entertainment team and remain animated, engaging, and professional at all times.
- Work closely with the in-game host, production team, and other Gotham FC staff to deliver a seamless fan experience.
- Ability to quickly learn and perform choreographed routines for elevated theme nights
- Working knowledge of soccer to support on-field contests, fan engagement elements, and soccer-related trivia
Qualifications:
- Naturally outgoing, energetic, and able to motivate a crowd.
- Comfortable on camera & in front of fans.
- Enjoy performing and interacting with large groups.
- Strong communication skills and confident speaking with fans, hosts, and production staff.
- Works well with others and takes direction quickly in a fast-paced, live environment.
- Brings good energy to every match and represents Gotham FC with pride and professionalism.
- Background in sports entertainment, cheer, dance, performing arts, event production, or customer service is a plus.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and live-event needs.
- Must be available for most if not all Gotham FC home matches
Capability & Other Characteristics:
- Physically able to move throughout the stadium, throw t-shirts, and participate in active promotions.
- Comfortable being on their feet for long periods and performing high-energy tasks
- Flexible with the ability to multitask.
- Understands timing, cues, and how to move safely and efficiently during live productions.
- Maintains composure, represents the club positively, and follows direction under pressure.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Location:
Based at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ (a 5-minute walk from the PATH Station), Hype Crew Members are expected to work at least 10 Gotham FC home matches for the 2026 Season. Additional trainings/meetings may also be required.

Salary range: $20 per hour, not to exceed 30 hours per week
