NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ. The Role:
Gotham FC is looking for a Data Analyst to work in our soccer data analytics department. This role would work closely with our management team, technical staff, and medical staff to standardize the clubs data management, create player dashboards (performance and medical), build custom metrics, and turn performance and health data into actionable insights to support roster construction, player wellbeing, and tactical analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on trends in soccer data and new approaches
- Aid in maintaining the clubs data infrastructure and standardizing club data practices
- Create custom dashboards and tools for reporting key (and actionable) insights to management, coaching staff, and medical staff
- Data integration: work to combine data from different sources and disciplines to easily accessible and unified databases
- Advanced analytics and modeling: Develop sophisticated models to inform long-term club planning and roster construction
- Ad hoc analysis and support for other departments as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong programming proficiency (Python or R preferred)
- Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, R Shiny, etc.)
- Experience with statistical modeling (predictive / regression analysis, ML, etc.)
- Experience with performance technologies and data (GPS tracking data, video analysis platforms, etc.)
- Strong communication skills to communicate technical concepts to non data native colleagues
- Ability to manage multiple projects across different disciplines and departments
- Interest and experience in soccer is preferred

Location:
This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, located in Whippany, New Jersey. Ability to attend all home games and any mandatory events as well as away games, as necessary. A willingness to travel for other business-related needs, as they arise. Ability to work at the team’s business operations office in Jersey City, New Jersey, as needed. Gotham FC requires its associates to live in its market, that is, within reasonable commuting distance of Gotham FC’s offices, practice facility and Sports Illustrated Stadium.
