Description:
The Chicago Stars FC is looking for positive, enthusiastic, energetic individuals to work with our Street Team on match days and for community events. As direct representatives of the club, Street Team members establish and maintain a superior level of customer satisfaction. As a brand ambassador to the club, you will be expected to demonstrate initiative and be an engaging and informative resource for Stars fans, community partners, and the public. 

Street Team members are expected to participate as event staff at 90% of home matches (approximately 12 per season) and at least two (2) Community events per month (based on event scheduling availability). Match days are a key part of understanding the team, the organization, and our fans - all of which will help you better represent the club at other events. This is a part-time seasonal and hourly paid position.
Responsibilities:
  • Attend events across the Chicagoland area to educate fans on the Stars, offer discounted ticket opportunities, encourage contest participation, and other promotions. 
  • Attend match days to help set up and oversee activations, assist with dressing the stadium, distribute team giveaways, encourage fan participation in activities, and direct fan engagement in match day experiences. 
  • Demonstrate active engagement and comfortability in approaching people to encourage enthusiasm. 
  • Pick up and drop off event materials from the front office as needed. 
  • Must be comfortable working independently and as a group leader while adhering to directives and feedback from supervisors and collaborators. 
  • Ability to take the initiative and creatively assist with solutions to unforeseen problems in real time. 
  • Effectively communicate with team members and front office staff at events as needed.
  • Select Street Team members may be asked to supervise small soccer activities and serve as handlers to assist the Stars mascot. 
Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be available to work at events with flexible hours. Most events are in the evenings and on weekends- though occasionally during the weekdays.
  • Must be an initiative-taker and self-sufficient - willing and able to run events yourself, sometimes without full-time staff present to assist.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude at all times. 
  • Must possess knowledge of the NWSL and the Chicago Stars FC, or a willingness to learn, and be able to put this knowledge to work in engaging with fans and the public.
  • Must be a team player who demonstrates initiative and can collaboratively solve problems.
  • Must be flexible and efficiently work in a fast-paced environment, adapting as needed to continue creating the best experience possible for those interacting with the Stars at events.
  • Strong verbal communication skills. 
  • Must have reliable access to transportation to get to/from events across the Chicagoland area and home matches.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Experience interacting, engaging, and inviting individuals and audiences to encourage participation in activities is desired. 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with people for a few hours. 
Candidates must successfully clear the Chicago Stars background check or have a previously cleared valid background check on file with the club before an offer is finalized.
