Job Title: Senior Manager, Event & Match Day Operations
Department: Operations
Reports to: Director Operations, Facilities and Events
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, production and logistics for all home matches.
- Responsible for planning and production of special events.
- Responsible for leading Event Operations staff in planning and execution of Chicago Stars internal events in service of community, corporate partnership, VIP, marketing and ticket sales departments.
- Facilitate all match day planning, communication and coordination with appropriate venue stakeholders.
- Liaison with the NWSL for execution of all match day policies and regulations.
- Assist with ensuring adherence to CBA regulations for home matches.
- Oversee production of all match day and event related documentation for external and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in facilitating hospitality and special events for VIP/premium clients.
- Collaborate with corporate partnership department to ensure execution of all match day contractual assets.
- Assist with maintaining event operations budget.
- Maintain accurate and complete files, records and other documents related to assigned responsibilities.
- Lead and mentor Event Operations Manager and Event Operations Coordinator.
- Other event operations duties as required.
Qualifications & Expectations:
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in operations and event planning is required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a management role leading staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Planning, and/or Sports Management are preferred.
- Must be able to attend all Chicago Stars FC home matches.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to get to and from the main office in Chicago, SeatGeek stadium in Bridgeview, and other facilities.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, prioritize quickly, problem solve, and work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues, fans, athletes, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge in determining and coordinating logistical needs for large events, preferably in a large sports stadium or event venue.
- Outstanding proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with priority in Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
- Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail through the full life cycle of events (pre-planning, matchday, post-evaluation).
- Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays including in an outdoor stadium environment.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Familiarity with the NWSL and soccer is desired.
