POSITION OVERVIEW
The Scouting Analytics Specialist will serve as the primary analytics resource within the Scouting Department, supporting player identification, evaluation, and recruitment processes through data analysis, reporting, and scouting intelligence. Working directly under the Chief Scout, this position will be responsible for maintaining scouting databases, developing advanced performance metrics, producing analytical reports, and ensuring that all scouting visualizations, dashboards, and analytical resources are organized, updated, and readily available for decision-making. The role will have dedicated responsibility for monitoring and evaluating the NCAA and Liga MX talent markets while providing analytical support across all scouting operations. This part-time position is based at the Chicago Stars Front Office. Hours may fluctuate based on need but are expected to average approximately 20 hours per week. This a part-time, fixed term contract.

Scouting Analytics & Reporting
· Develop and maintain analytical frameworks to support player identification, evaluation, and recruitment.
· Create advanced scouting metrics and player evaluation models tailored to the needs of the Scouting Department.
· Produce customized reports, presentations, and player assessments based on specific departmental requirements.
· Conduct player performance evaluations through statistical analysis, video analysis, and scouting intelligence.
· Support strategic recruitment decisions through data-driven insights and recommendations.
· Assist the Chief Scout by ensuring relevant analytical information is readily available and actionable
Database & Visualization Management
· Maintain and manage scouting databases using SQL and other data management tools.
· Ensure player, match, and scouting datasets are accurate, complete, and continuously updated.
· Organize, maintain, and improve scouting dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools.
· Clean, structure, and validate data to ensure consistency and reliability across scouting operations.
· Develop efficient processes for data collection, maintenance, and reporting.
NCAA & Liga MX Market Intelligence
· Lead analytical monitoring and reporting for the NCAA and Liga MX player markets.
· Track player performance, development trends, and emerging talent within assigned territories.
· Provide regular market intelligence reports and prospect updates to the Chief Scout and scouting staff.
· Support the identification of recruitment targets through ongoing analysis and benchmarking.
Match & Training Observation
· Attend assigned matches in person to support live scouting and player evaluation.
· Travel as required for scouting assignments.
· Observe training sessions when requested by the Chief Scout or Scouting Department leadership.
· Integrate live observations with analytical findings to produce comprehensive player assessments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Sports Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
· Strong proficiency in SQL and database management.
· Experience with data visualization and reporting tools.
· Ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable scouting insights.
· Strong understanding of player performance analysis and evaluation methodologies.
· Knowledge of NCAA and/or Liga MX competitions and player markets is highly desirable.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with scouting staff.
· Availability to travel and attend matches and training sessions as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Previous experience working in soccer analytics, scouting, recruitment, or performance analysis.
· Experience developing advanced player evaluation models and scouting metrics.
· Familiarity with video analysis platforms and scouting software.
· Understanding of modern football recruitment processes and talent identification strategies.
LOCATION/SCHEDULE
· Work hours are generally 9:00 am- 1:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
· This part-time position is based at the Chicago Stars Front Office and SeatGeek locations. Hours may fluctuate based on business needs but are expected to average approximately 20 hours per week.

· Must have reliable Transportation to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, IL, Central office located in Chicago, and Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
