The Senior PR Manager will be a dynamic member of Angel City FC’s PR team, championing the club’s impactful work alongside corporate partners and in the greater community. This leader will excel at weaving partnership activation, sponsorship visibility, athlete publicity, and purpose-driven storytelling while helping communicate the club’s brand across multiple touchpoints.
In addition to core PR functions, the Senior Manager will:
- Run the press box on home game days, facilitating media operations and coverage.
- Travel to select away games to provide on-site PR support for the team.
- Be present at our practice facility in Thousand Oaks, CA, as needed to facilitate media, community programming, and club initiatives.
- Support partner/sponsor, community, and impact initiatives, helping organize, publicize, and report on key events and relationships.
- Liaise and communicate around partnership/sponsorship announcements, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent Angel City FC as the main PR contact for corporate partners’ activations, community programming, and impact initiatives.
- Lead the management and operations of the Angel City FC press box during home games, including accreditation, media support, and post-match communications.
- Serve as a dedicated PR contact for the Thousand Oaks practice facility, supporting team media needs and programming.
- Develop and execute public relations plans publicizing Angel City FC’s unique give-back model, mission, and business.
- Draft, edit, and execute press releases, media alerts, and game-day communications.
- Ensure community impact efforts are interwoven into the club’s earned media strategy, content, and events.
- Pitch and secure earned media stories for corporate partners, impact announcements, and sponsorship highlights.
- Work collaboratively with partnerships, community, and revenue teams to stay informed about all relevant announcements.
- Act as a liaison by communicating plans to internal stakeholders when needed.
- Staff home and away games, select sponsorship activations, and major community events where media are expected.
- Work closely with the marketing team on tentpole campaigns (jersey launches, merch collaborations, etc.), amplifying across earned media channels.
- Provide on-site support for executives, players, and coaches during events and interviews.
- Maintain and manage media lists to ensure they are up to date and contacts are receiving all relevant PR materials.
- Regularly report on PR strategy planning and execution status.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of sports, corporate, and/or non-profit PR and marketing experience.
- Proven expertise in running effective press operations and media relations at sporting and large events.
- Ability to travel with the team for select away matches; flexibility to work from club offices, home games, practice facility (Thousand Oaks, CA), and remote events as needed.
- Excellent understanding of PR and marketing, with the ability to manage and execute multiple projects.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong media contacts, including business, sports, corporate, and social impact outlets.
- Deep understanding of new media platforms and outlets (podcasts, digital publications).
- Ability to support and collaborate on social media strategy, focusing on LinkedIn and Instagram for impact storytelling.
- Skilled at pitching original ideas and executing shared visions.
- Experienced with internal PR tasks: reviewing releases, brainstorming, staffing events.
- Knowledge of Muckrack, Asana, and Google Workspace preferred.
- Ability to work flexible days/hours for games and events, including some evenings and weekends.

Compensation:
In addition to the benefits above, this role has a pay range between $80k to $90k.
