The Community Impact Team at Angel City acts as the bridge between Angel City FC and the community, managing relationships with community partners, grants, volunteerism, and donations. The team also oversees game day activations that allow community partners to showcase their programming and resources. Angel City community efforts are funded by Angel City’s unique 10% Sponsorship Model and by Angel City Impact, the nonprofit arm of Angel City FC.
The Community Ambassador plays a key role in supporting and executing Angel City’s fan engagement and community programming, with a particular focus on supporting community coaches and helping deliver high-quality clinics and camps across Los Angeles. This role will assist with planning and onsite execution of programs, serve as a point of connection for community coaches, and help create welcoming, organized, and impactful fan-facing experiences. The Community Ambassador will have opportunities to shadow members of the Community team to get exposure to all roles within the department over a 12-month period.
This is a one-year, part-time hourly position, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Fan Engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and onsite execution of community clinics and camps, including assisting community coaches and ensuring a positive participant experience.
- Serve as onsite support for community coaches, helping with logistics, check-in, equipment set-up, and program flow.
- Assist the Senior Manager of Fan Engagement with community events, fan-facing activations, and youth programming.
- Act as a liaison between Angel City FC and community coaches, supporting communication, scheduling, and alignment to ensure clinics and camps are delivered consistently and in line with Club values.
- Support updating metrics related to Fan Engagement programs and events.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Understanding of soccer culture and youth sports environments.
- Excellent communication, written, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a hybrid model that includes commuting to BMO stadium, ACFC HQ in Santa Monica, and Community events in the greater LA area.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work all home match days and non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to set up program activations, which often requires carrying moderate-sized materials or boxes; employee must be able to work in outdoor conditions and lift and carry up to forty (40) pounds
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality
- Knowledge of Google Suite, Zoom, and Asana is a bonus
- Personable, proactive, creative, and innovative team player who believes in the mission and values of Angel City FC and the NWSL preferred
- Bilingual with fluency in Spanish preferred
Compensation
This role is temporary and part-time for 10-15 hours a week at the rate of $20 - $25 an hour, based on experience.
