 The Assistant General Manager will drive the club’s high-performance culture by establishing and maintaining systems and processes that create a trusting, impactful work environment. The person will report directly to the General Manager and collaborate with everyone in the Football Operations group. They will manage the team’s Salary Cap, ensure compliance with NWSL rules and regulations, and support strategic initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage the NWSL Salary Cap and ensure the team follows league roster rules
  • Assist in the development of and management of the soccer operations budget and support department heads with individual department budgets
  • Create and finalize employee handbooks with policies & procedures in conjunction with HR
  • Establish sporting staff onboarding practices and procedures
  • Support the sporting department’s annual review processes
  • Assist the General Manager in administrative duties with trade, loans, and player movement, including TMS entries, trade documentation, and acting as a liaison between the club and league
  • Support the General Manager with the creation of presentations and reports used to present to ownership or other groups as needed
  • Build and monitor a system or process for integrated staff priorities and actions (for ex., OKRs)
  • Build and monitor internal operational procedures, including decision-making, information flow, and staff management principles
  • Establish professional development opportunities to support staff
  • Oversee Field Maintenance, including the facility and staff
  • Be a touchpoint with staff members to help navigate challenges before they get to GM
  • Connect with and negotiate with agents and teams around player availability and player transfers
  • Support discussions involving capex, including facilities, international investment, & league rules

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Collaborative management style – advocate of team concepts
  • Positive influencer, comfortable with leading dynamic change
  • Available to work within a high-performance soccer organization

  • Experience, familiarity, and network within local and international soccer, particularly with the structure and rules of NWSL

Compensation
  • Salary range of $150,000-170,000; actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, such as experience and skill level.
