  • Plans and directs food preparation and culinary activities.

  • Maintains and abides by County and State Health/Sanitation as well as Sporting KC standards.
  • Keep time and payroll records.
  • Shows flexibility by rotating to other service locations when necessary.
  • Meets with Executive Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes, and other information pertinent to job performance.
  • Ensures that all equipment is in proper operating condition and is cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Strong meat and fish butchery, sauce making, as well as advanced cooking techniques.   
  • Promote the importance of sustainability and reduction of food waste through planning, monitoring, and standardized controls.
  • Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by Executive Chef.
  • Must maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers, staff, and above all our clients and fans.
  • Meets with Culinary Managers to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes, and other information pertinent to job performance.  
  • Ensures that only the highest-of-quality product is served to our guests.  
  • Maintains, collects and communicates all event day waste to Executive Chef.

  • Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations.  
  • Must be able to smile, maintain positive body language, and consistently provide a positive guest experience.
  • Must be able to generalize, evaluate, and make decisions without immediate supervision.  
  • Must be able to accept and carry out directions with responsibilities.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-years Sous Chef experience in a high-volume venue.
  • ServSafe Certified.
  • Communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Strong commitment to delivering a high level of standards and training the staff to operate in the same manner.
  • Guest service oriented.
  • Must be able to pass a culinary test administered by our Executive Chef.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
