The Performance Analyst supports the Head of Performance Analysis and First Team coaching staff in all aspects of video and data analysis. This role contributes to the preparation and review of team and player performances through opposition scouting, training analysis, live match support, and post-match review. The Performance Analyst plays a key role in providing high-quality, organized, and insightful analysis materials that enhance the decision-making, learning, and preparation processes for coaches and players. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced professional environment.

Essential Functions
  • Support the Head of Performance Analysis in delivering all video and data analysis requirements for the First Team.
  • Assist in pre-match opposition analysis, including coding, tagging, and presentation preparation to support scouting reports and team meetings.
  • Capture and code training sessions for technical and tactical review, supporting the coaching staff with key learning clips and insights.
  • Provide live match analysis through real-time coding and tagging, assisting the coaching staff with in-game information and half-time feedback.
  • Contribute to post-match analysis, including the review, coding, and delivery of match footage and performance metrics for coaches and players.
  •  Organize and manage all video and data content, maintaining up-to-date databases and archives for matches, training sessions, and opposition footage.
  • Create video edits, highlights, and tactical clips to support team meetings, individual player feedback, and review sessions.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Performance Analysis to ensure consistent standards and workflows across all analysis processes.
  •  Assist in the management of equipment and software systems, including cameras, capture technology, data servers, and tagging software.
  •  Stay updated on emerging technologies and analysis methods to continually improve efficiency and output quality.
  • Work collaboratively with the coaching, performance, and scouting departments to ensure alignment of analysis with the club’s playing philosophy.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Coaching, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  •  Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a performance or video analysis role, ideally within professional or collegiate soccer.
  •  Experience using industry-standard software such as Hudl Sportscode, Wyscout, Spiideo, InStat, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in video editing, tagging, and presentation design for technical and tactical review.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, or equivalent) desirable.
  •  Understanding of soccer tactics, match preparation cycles, and training periodization.
  •  Strong IT literacy, including use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  •  Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

Physical & Working Conditions 
  • Based primarily at the Club’s training facility and stadium, with regular travel for matches and events. 
  • Work involves both on-field coaching and office-based planning environments. 
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, run, bend, stoop, push and pull as required. 
  •  Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds occasionally. 
  •  Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions. 
  • Travel and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays are required. 
  • Must maintain professionalism and emotional control in demanding or high-pressure situations.
