Position Description
City Foods & Events internships allow college or graduate students to hold a temporary position within the organization, with emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in events & sports operations by doing a wide variety of different tasks assigned by their Team Lead.

The City Foods & Events Social Media & Marketing Intern will gain hands-on experience performing a variety of roles within a fast-paced, behind-the-scenes environment, with the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer in Kansas City. Sporting KC’s collaborative environment full of learning opportunities is designed to help all interns evolve as professionals, challenge their strengths, and reach their fullest potential.

The position is to be a key contributor to the Events team while ensuring all work is consistent with the Sporting KC brand purpose: “We create memories through personalized experiences with our Club.”

Essential Functions
  • Assist the City Foods & Events Team in graphic and web design, as well as assist in providing creative assets.
  • Help establish & assist in maintaining the City Foods & Events social media & online presence.
  • Develop documents for business collateral and design general materials to represent City Foods & Events.
  • Create the design for presentations, partner communications and public relations communications.
  • Provide creative solutions for any visual challenges.
  • Maintain the City Foods & Events brand by studying the target markets and competitors.
  • Continue to grow and expand the brand, maintaining quality and consistency amongst all entities and partners.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  • Support City Foods & Events’ mission, vision, and purpose.
  • Mentor junior associates and seasonal interns.
  • Represent City Foods & Events and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Matchday Responsibilities
  • Content development through photography, venue design & storytelling
  • Support Hospitality department on Concessions & Premium Tower operations

Skills and Experience
  • College junior or senior currently enrolled in a design program at an accredited institution.
  • Provide proof to receive credit through the internship toward the completion of a degree.
  • Minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.
  • Knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Calendar.
  • Social Media & Marketing Professional/Specialist
  • Fluent in SEO embedding 
  • Create & Design Content, Including Copy & Call to Action
  • Curate Calendar of Events for Individual Sites’ Posts
  • Design & Implement Independent Review & Search Sites Like:
