Facility Operations/Event Staff: Game Day/Event Staff
Experience the excitement of a part-time position in professional sports!  The Chef/Cook at Sporting Kansas City is responsible for effectively supporting all culinary operations and preparing outstanding food for fans and guests.

  • Report for scheduled work in a timely manner and in complete uniform, with a neat and clean personal appearance.
  • Maintain a friendly, positive attitude at all times.
  • Provide outstanding customer service for all guests and clients at Sporting KC facilities.
  • Maintain a clean, net and safe work area.
  • Meet with the Executive Culinary Team to review assignments, anticipated business levels, and other information pertinent to high performance.
  • Ensure that only the highest quality product is served to fans and guests.
  • Maintains and abides by County Health/Sanitation as well as Sporting Kansas City standards.
  • Provide efficient service and quality products by maintaining positive customer and client relations through effective communication and prudent financial practices.
  • Ensures that all equipment is in proper operational condition and is cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Shows flexibility by rotating to other service locations when necessary.
  • Work as a team with fellow associates and other service departments within stadium.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgement base on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.

  • The ideal candidate will have a culinary degree or have graduated from a certified apprenticeship program with a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of cooking experience in the contract foodservice industry, preferably in premium services, catering, and concessions environments for a sports and entertainment venue.  
  • Strong cooking and line cooking skills.
  • Strong meat and fish butchery, sauce making, as well as advanced cooking techniques.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Proficient using a computer to access the internet.
  • Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers and alcoholic beverage services.
