Job Description Summary
The Sporting Kansas City Account Manager, Partnership Marketing shall be responsible for the day-to-day management of an allocated partnership portfolio within the Corporate Partnership department at Sporting Kansas City and its parent company Sporting Club. Role includes overseeing the execution of assigned account assets at the highest level of customer service and satisfaction as well as collection of contractually obligated revenue per account. Additionally, the Account Manager shall be responsible for renewing each applicable account and generating incremental revenue within their current partnership portfolio. The Account Manager will work and communicate with a diverse group of clients and prospects, as well as internal contacts at all levels.

The position is to be a key contributor to the Corporate Partnerships team while ensuring all work is consistent with the Sporting KC brand purpose: “We create memories through personalized experiences with our Club.”

Essential Functions
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Sporting Club and assigned partnership portfolio to build, nurture, and grow a positive relationship between both parties.
  • Implement, activate and track all assigned partner assets to ensure all contractual obligations are being fulfilled.
  • Retain and generate revenue for Sporting Club with current clients either through organic upsell or renewal process.
  • Create, track, and maintain all recaps and case studies for assigned clients detailing the process and success of their partnership program and assets.
  • Maintain accurate reporting process, through Trak and KORE partnership and CRM systems, ensuring database management is aligned both internally and externally.
  • Plan and execute partner events as assigned which may include pre-game receptions, clinics, tours, in-game promotions, player appearances, community programs, etc.
  • Responsible for educating, as well as collecting measurement data internally and externally from partners, agencies and MLS counterparts, as applicable, on a regular basis.
  • Actively manage and amplify specific platform development as assigned.
  • Successfully manage the budget as it pertains to partnership fulfillment and partnership activation expenses.
  • Conduct consistent touchpoints with each client to develop long-term relationships and continually find creative solutions that go above and beyond the contract to enhance the partnership experience.
  • Support Sporting Kansas City’s mission, vision and values of excellence, competence, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Match Day Responsibilities
  • Full-time associates act as representatives of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and working to create Magic Moments for all fans.
  • Provide the Partnership Marketing Team with Game Day Guide.
  • Meet with clients to help set up activation spaces.
  • Conduct pre-game walk thru of the suites, concourse and club spaces to ensure activation.
  • Taking photos of activations to provide as proof of performance.
  • Plan and execute pre-match, halftime, and post-match contests and promotions, as applicable.
  • Gather notes and provide a recap of the game, as applicable.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration, Business, Marketing or other related field required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of activation and/or relationship management experience, preferably within the sports and/or marketing industries.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of sales experience, or history of renewing/upselling of current clients preferred.
  • Desire and ability to seek and secure incremental revenue opportunities with current clients.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading skills, with a strong ability to communicate ideas both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork aptitude and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Slides, Adobe, KORE/Salesforce, Trak, and SportsDigita.
  • Capacity to adapt to the unique and vibrant Kansas City market.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write in the English language to effectively engage with fans, clients, business partners, and other Sporting Kansas City Associates.
