POSITION SUMMARY
This posting is for a position that Sounders FC may hire at any time throughout the year.  It is a way for us to build a pipeline of qualified, interested individuals for a particular role, so that when there is a need to fill that specific role the hiring process will be faster. By applying to this position, you are expressing your interest in joining the Sounders Ticket Sales department as a Group Experience Consultant.

The Group Experience Consultant is a competitive, positive, self-driven individual who is motivated to exceed all assigned ticket sales goals.  This role is responsible for generating revenue by identifying new business prospects and selling customized group experiences, as well as cross-selling a full menu of ticket products. The Group Experience Consultant will handle the service, support, maintenance, and renewal of all assigned and prospected accounts, while also collaborating with the rest of the team to plan and execute various group events and programming. 
     
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Achieve or exceed established sales objectives by executing daily sales calls, prospecting, and setting meetings with current and potential group ticket buyers.
  • Lead sales presentations and stadium tours for potential clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current group ticket customers.
  • Develop new group experience ideas and programs to drive revenue, including planning and executing events and / or theme nights for targeted groups on matchdays,
  • Represent, promote, and sell the club at various events, including all Sounders FC matches as well as miscellaneous community activations.
  • Responsible for servicing, up-selling, and cross-selling full menu ticket products.
  • Handle feedback from in-bound calls and provide exceptional customer service to resolve customer issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all client interaction through the club’s customer database system.

Required
  • Demonstrated understanding of and success in the sales process and prospecting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Motivated, driven, hungry to sell.
  • Resilient, positive, upbeat.
  • Proactive, with ability to prospect new customers and create self-generated leads.
  • Ability to speak in a professional manner via telephone and in person with guests, visitors, & fans.
  • Demonstrated work experience in a professional sports or college athletics environment, including involvement with high-profile events.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent time-management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously, yet simultaneously be a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • An innovative and creative thinker who is not constrained by conventional thinking or established approaches.

Preferred
  • Bilingual (especially Spanish / English) or multi-lingual skills a plus
 
Required computer skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • SRO and Microsoft Dynamics CRM knowledge strongly preferred.     
 
Education/experience/certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from accredited four-year college or university required
  • 1+ years of sports sales experience.  Group sales experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in event planning a plus.

Special remarks regarding work environment, if applicable 
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed, including all 16+ Sounders FC home matches.
  • Travel estimated to be 10%.
  • Responsibilities may require standing on feet for long periods of time, as well as some heavy lifting (25+ pounds).  
  • This position functions primarily at the Sounders FC office in Seattle.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation.
