About the Position:
The San Jose Earthquakes are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive individual to serve as the Head Athletic Trainer for Quakes II. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day sports medicine operations for the team, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of players.
This position plays a key role in supporting player health and performance by working closely with coaching staff, performance teams, and medical personnel. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and is committed to delivering high-quality care to athletes.

A successful candidate for the Head Athletic Trainer role is a highly skilled and detail-oriented medical professional who can operate both independently and collaboratively. They bring strong clinical judgment, organization, and communication skills, allowing them to effectively manage player care and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day healthcare operations for Quakes II players
- Provide first aid and emergency care during training sessions and matches
- Develop and implement rehabilitation and injury prevention programs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date player medical records in the League EMR system
- Document all daily treatments and player interactions
- Manage medical supplies, equipment, and inventory
- Ensure training and medical facilities are clean, organized, and compliant
- Collaborate with Club medical and performance staff
- Comply with MLS medical policies, protocols, and OSHA standards
- Attend required team activities, meetings, and league programs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing
- Current CPR certification for Healthcare Provider
- Maintain professional liability insurance
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in an elite sports environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Salary range: $75,000 - $82,000
