The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions of the Finance department.  This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Finance.  The Senior Accountant will analyze and book intercompany accounting, work with departments for revenue recognition for all non-settlement-based revenue and reconcile the corresponding deferred revenue accounts. The Senior Accountant will assist in the budgeting and forecast process. This position supports the finance team to complete all period end reporting and reviews such as an annual audit and tax returns.

Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:

  • Book revenue journal entries for all revenue streams of the company, aside from event settlements
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Prepare ticketing settlement workbooks
  • Calculate City ticket tax on ticketed events at the stadium
  • Complete game day reporting to the league and assist in league required reporting
  • Analyze incoming cash and book weekly cash transfers
  • Reconcile and book intercompany transactions and cash transfers
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Reviewing GL Data for Coding Changes and posting coding change requests from Budget owners
  • Assist in the annual financial statement audit and tax returns
  • Provide guidance and review work of team accountants
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze accounting processes and provide efficiencies by utilizing AI or existing software

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5-10 years in an accounting or auditing role
  • Attention to detail; strong organizational capability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines
  • Customer-service oriented 
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to work independently 
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information
 
Education:
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience:
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications, especially Excel – PIVOTS, V/X Lookups, SUMIFs
  • Account reconciliations
  • Experience in NetSuite or equivalent ERP system required (NetSuite strongly preferred)
  • Experience with budgeting in FP&A software, NetSuite Planning & Budgeting preferred
