WSFS Bank Sportsplex is a premier multi-sport and event facility, spanning over 32 acres along the Delaware River, serving athletes, clubs, and the community through world-class fields, programming, and events. From soccer and lacrosse to basketball and pickleball, the WSFS Bank Sportsplex is the place to be for all sports enthusiasts in our community.
As the official training home of the Philadelphia Union, Union II, and Union Academy, the Sportsplex is committed to excellence in Athlete development, operational quality, and guest experience. There are 6 full size outdoor fields, 3 turf and 3 grass, with the addition of a 7th field that is 75x50 yards. The indoor facilities include a 115×70 yard turf field, two multisport courts which are capable of hosting basketball, volleyball, and futsal, a two-story performance center with weight room and sprint track, six locker rooms, a café for athletes and guests, recovery room, and event space.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Sports Performance Manager & Closing Operations Lead to drive our sports performance programming while managing key aspects of daily operations. This position plays a critical role in leading our performance training efforts, developing staff, and ensuring the safe and professional closing of our facility and doubles as a Facility Closing Facility Lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sports Performance Leadership
Develop and manage sports performance programs, including:
- 1-on-1 athlete training
- Small group sessions
- Team-based performance programs
- Recruit, train, and supervise part-time performance coaches.
- Deliver engaging, high-quality training sessions.
- Set and track performance and revenue goals.
- Drive program enrollment and retention through marketing and member engagement.
Marketing & Sales
Collaborate with the marketing team to support:
- Social media content and promotions
- Email and digital marketing campaigns
- Manage and track individual and team sales, ensuring revenue targets are met.
Operations
- Oversee daily setup and breakdown of performance and training areas.
- Maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and readiness for programming.
- Managerial & Closing Duties
- Supervise closing operations, including staff oversight and end-of-day checklists.
- Conduct nightly inspections to ensure:
- Facility cleanliness and readiness for next-day use
- Security systems are armed and operational
- Cash handling and deposits are completed accurately (as applicable)
- Coordinate with operations management to communicate any maintenance or scheduling needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sports Management, or related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in sports performance, fitness, or athletic training.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate both staff and athletes.
- Proven ability to meet financial and enrollment targets.
- CPR/AED and relevant training certifications (e.g., NASM, CSCS, ACE, or equivalent) preferred.
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

This role is required to maintain valid criminal background clearances in the state of PA:
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- PA State Police Criminal Record Check
- Criminal Background Check (via fingerprinting)
- Annual Safe Sport Certification
