WHO WE ARE 
Awarded Major League Soccer’s 16th franchise in 2008, the Philadelphia Union officially took the pitch in 2010 and have been raising expectations ever since. Owned and operated by Union Sports & Entertainment, the Philadelphia Union call Subaru Park home—an 18,500-seat, world-class, soccer-specific stadium set along the Delaware River beneath the Commodore Barry Bridge, just 15 miles from downtown Philadelphia.

The Union also hosted the Eastern Conference Final in 2021, were crowned Eastern Conference Champions in 2022, and advanced to the MLS Cup Final that same year in one of the most thrilling matches in league history. The club has continued to represent Philadelphia on the international stage through participation in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League.

ABOUT THIS ROLE 
The Senior Coordinator, Social Media will be responsible for assisting and maintaining digital strategy implementation across all Philadelphia Union digital platforms.  This role will serve as the primary contact for Philadelphia Union II’s social media channels and will lead the club’s planning and execution of the organization’s TikTok and YouTube Shorts strategy. 
 
This position requires someone who is deeply entrenched with internet trends with a constant focus on new and innovative ways to distribute content on our channels and grow the club’s audiences. This role will also be a crafty and creative copywriter with a passion for establishing a unique and fun tone supplementing content on our channels. This position will monitor on-going trends in social media and produce social media content in a timely fashion that can be used by any of the club’s channels.
 
The Senior Coordinator, Social Media will regularly collaborate with all members of the Content team, including digital, creative and video as well as other departments including but not limited to Marketing, Public Relations, Sponsorship and Community Relations. The position will report to the Senior Manager, Social Media to regularly assess and adjust the club’s on-going social strategy. The ideal candidate is a creative, clever and motived self-starter who has a confident work ethic, strong attention to detail and thrives in the fast-paced environment of sports.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Assist with operating all Philadelphia Union social media accounts including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, X, Bluesky, TikTok, and YouTube. 
  • Research, plan, execute, and evaluate all content for club’s TikTok and Shorts channel. 
  • Ability to quickly turn ideas into social friendly content including filming/editing a video trend or creating a witty meme in the Union's tone. 
  • Real-time coverage of all Philadelphia Union and Philadelphia Union II’s on and off field events.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and monitor best practices, trends, etc. for each social platform. 
  • Work with designers, videographers, and photographers to tailor content for social needs. 
  • Participate in team brainstorming to bring creative ideas and new ways to execute current processes. 
  • Assist with the organization’s supplementary social media channels including the team mascot, WSFS Bank Sportsplex, Philadelphia Union Foundation, etc. 
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice across all social channels.
 
REQUIREMENTS 
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, digital media, or a related field, plus a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working on a professional sports or brand account.
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Premier. 
  • Demonstrated ability to run social media channels and produce engaging content for the platforms. 
  • Must have a strong interest and deep understanding of soccer.
