ABOUT THE ROLE
The Philadelphia Union Academy is looking to add a hardworking, resourceful and motivated individual to support our operations team as an Equipment Coordinator. The Academy Equipment Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the equipment room and provide game and event support as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist operations staff with ordering, inventory, preparation, and distribution of all equipment for Academy staff and players.
- Assist with preparation and distribution of all gear (training, travel, appearance, and match) necessary for all teams.
- Work with operations staff to prepare and carry out logistical plans for all trips, domestic or international, keeping in account unknown weather conditions and/or guest players.
- Willingness to travel on trips is required.
- Adhere to standards set forth by MLS NEXT regarding kits and equipment, and game-day operations.
- Utilize heat-press to apply numbers, sponsor patches and logos to uniforms, training gear and leisure gear.
- Oversee locker room operations for home and away games; including but not limited to dressing locker rooms in player kits prior to games and training, and ensuring cleanliness post training or matches.
- Assist with travel logistics as it pertains to moving equipment to and from the airport, hotels and stadiums.
- Assist Equipment Manager in necessary and timely preparation for all games and practices.

Academy staff are required to maintain valid criminal background clearances in the state of PA:
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- PA State Police Criminal Record Check
- FBI Criminal Background Check (via fingerprinting)
- Annual Safe Sport Certification
