Equipment Associate

The Equipment Associate is responsible for assisting with the operation of the practice facility and all equipment contained within as they relate to the conditioning and performance of the team and its athletes. The Equipment Associate is responsible for addressing team equipment needs at all times, mostly during training sessions. This position supports and assists training staff and other Soccer Operations staff and requires substantial hours of work to maintain a professional equipment operation for a professional sports team.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assists and sets up all athletic equipment for the LA Galaxy II team players, coaches and support staff; Acquire, inventory, distribute and store necessary athletic equipment, clothing, luggage and footwear as needed for players and hockey operations staff; maintain organized, clean, and safe equipment areas at arenas, practice sites, and off-site locations
  • Assist with the set up and breakdown of daily equipment. Including but not limited to practice ,in game day activities including set-up, warm-ups, managing halftime needs of players, removing unused game uniforms from lockers after halftime, removing equipment from home, visitors, and referee locker rooms after games in accordance with League rules.
  • Assist with fulfilling visiting teams’ needs while at the StubHub Center employees.
  •  Timely distribute clean player uniforms, practice gear, towels, and staff workout gear
  •  Helps maintain in-season and post-season inventory of all soccer equipment, supplies, etc.
  •  Maintain clear and distinct understanding of USL Team Outfitting, USL Operations Manual relating to athletic equipment, uniforms, and footwear

Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
1.     A minimum education level of: High School Diploma. BS or Bachelors degree preferred. 
2.     A minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience
3.     Excellent written and oral skills
4.     Knowledge of sport team operations       
5.     Ability to make effective equipment modifications
6.     Ability to keep, maintain, and prepare effective and accurate records 
7.     Ability to maintain effective relationships with management, league officials, facility representatives, media, and fellow Soccer Operations staff employees
8.     Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays  
9.     Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
10.   Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
11.   Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ability to learn required business systems
Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):
1.     Familiar with MLS, USL is a plus
2.     Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
