Position: 
The Community Relations Associate is part of the Marketing & Communications department for Minnesota United FC (MNUFC), a sports business located in the Twins Cities area of Minnesota and a member of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top tier soccer league in North America.
 
Job Description:
The Minnesota United FC Community Relations (CR) Department is seeking a Community Relations Associate to join the Club in support of its community outreach efforts. The CR Associate with support from the CR Specialist and CR Director, will activate under the Club’s community pillars of Soccer, Diversity & Inclusion, Youth Enrichment and Greener Goals. In this role, you will be a Club liaison for our diverse external community partners, as well as facilitate communal requests to further the team’s purpose of inspiring and uniting the community through the world’s game. 

This is a part-time role reporting to the Director, Community Relations based in Golden Valley, MN.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist Community Relations team in donation request fulfillment, and execute itemized donations and company’s charitable auctions
  • Support Community Relations Specialist with communal events execution and planning throughout the Twin Cities, and occasional events in Greater Minnesota and Wisconsin
  • Lead and coordinate community activations in relation to home games, as well as first and second team player appearances 
  • Record database of community appearances, donations, autographed items, and inventory
  • Respond to community requests via phone, e-mail, and mail

Requirements:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and cultural competency, including the ability to interact comfortable with people in all walks of life 
  • Professionalism in all interactions with fans, corporate partners, fellow MNUFC staff members, and MNUFC players, executives, and coaches
  • Punctuality and accountability are essential for all aspects of Associate role
  • Bilingual skills a plus (Spanish, Hmong, Somali preferred) 
  • Excellent organization skills are required
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and potential holidays, along with the ability to work home games for the 2024 season
  • Involvement in campus leadership activities, college sports, club sports preferred
  • Recent graduate or new professional preferred
