Summary
The Youth Programs Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day coordination of all youth soccer programs and initiatives under the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash. Youth Programs Coordinator must have a strong knowledge and understanding of the local youth soccer landscape along with the skill set, experience and ability to deliver a professional, efficient and viable operation. Essential job functions and responsibilities are as follows: 
  • Coordinate logistical and operational department needs related to youth programs and initiatives supervised by the Youth Programs Manager or as directed by the department supervisor. This includes communicating with youth program customers, vendors, internal departments and partners. 
  • Assist in coordinating registration processes and procedures as required by the department (i.e., refunds, customer inquiries, inbound/outbound requests, etc.) 
  • Assist in the coordination and distribution of event collateral materials and departmental needs (i.e., equipment, uniforms, flyers/brochures, calendars, etc.). 
  • Assist as needed in coordinating marketing plans and support to assist with marketing and promoting our various programs and initiatives. Youth Programs department will work directly with our internal departments to assist with preparing and executing our marketing initiatives. 
  • Assist in coordinating required communication and execution plans to customers and/or prospects that will allow for a professional, first-class customer experience. 
  • Assist in addressing customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Keep accurate records of participants which includes contact information, medical forms, program tracking, and program feedback. 
  • Assist in the development and planning of camps. 
  • Assist in the Dynamo Academy Sessions 
  • Assists in Dynamo academy events and showcases
  • Attend Grassroots events 
  • Program School appearances and staff appropriately for grassroots marketing
  • Travel as required for the department 
  • Ability to coordinate and implement required systems, policies and procedures to create efficiencies in programmatic and administrative decision-making matters. 
  • Assist in developing, coordinating and executing business plan objectives (programs, events and initiatives) that align with departmental and organizational goals. 
  • Recruitment and management of part-time/hourly required support staff as required and directed by department supervisor (i.e., coaches/trainers, front-office personnel, etc.). 
  • Assist in coordinating departmental budgeting and reporting as required by the company. More specifically, assist in managing customer contracts/registrations, invoices, and payment schedules. 
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively communicate, collaborate and execute departmental job duties and responsibilities (both internally and externally). 
  • As required, provide necessary assistance and support for internal department needs to assist with key contractual obligations (i.e., Dynamo Charities, Sponsors/Partners, etc.). 
  • Assist in developing and implementing professional curriculum and methodology for our various programs and initiatives. 

Minimum Job Requirements 
  • College degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant subject matter such as physical education (preferred). 
  • Accredited coaching license (A, B or E license). 
  • 3 years of running a program site and managing staff within a youth development framework. 
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook. Proficiency in MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). 
  • Detail-oriented, self-disciplined, takes initiative, good communicator, driven by excellence, appreciates process and procedures. 
  • Reliable means of transportation. 
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus but not required. 
  • Ability to work irregular hours (i.e., nights, weekends, holidays, etc.) when required to ensure programs and initiatives are run in a professional and efficient manner. 
  • Recruitment, training, support and acknowledgment for coaches. 
  • Accurate tracking of all part-time personnel hours for Department. Working alongside the Finance Department to manage Youth Programs operating budget. 
  • Reviews and evaluates the program enrollment and services provided by the department and communicates findings to the Supervisor. 
  • Ability to make prudent business decisions. 
  • Provide necessary leadership and guidance in camp programming and initiatives; including daily engagement with each camp, management and execution of the part time staff along with support in conducting first-class professional programs. 
  • Identifies new and innovative programs and opportunities in youth and adult sports that encourages year-round engagement and future business opportunities. 
  • Ability to relate with diverse communities and continue efforts to bring youth soccer programs to all demographic areas throughout the region. 
  • Maintains all equipment ensuring proper storage and inventory throughout the year. 
  • Ensure cleanliness of all program fields and space. 
  • Provides leadership and support to strong community campaigns and volunteer committees as needed. 
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned and required. 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort 
  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. 
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. 
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
