Player Operations: Technical Director- Any Sport
The High-Performance Director is an exceptionally important position within our club’s growing
infrastructure and professional pathway. The primary role of this position is to support, improve and accelerate the development of the talented young players within the Academy’s Pre-Professional Phase (U17, U19, U23). We believe that individual and team development go hand-in-hand and that having a clear philosophy and vision is essential to improve both coach and player development and to create a true high performance environment. We are also a club with an ambition and a commitment to nurture and inspire a culture of development within our technical staff and for the youth within in the club. All our coaches and support staff within the Academy have a shared passion and responsibility to develop players to their highest levels and towards our first team.

The High Performance Director will be a key leader within the club to oversee and manage the
development of the many talented and hard-working young players who aspire to be professionals. This dynamic position requires both a passion for on-field coaching and development, as well as expertise off-field, to create, design, organize and implement education and development plans that inspire, track, and ultimately, improve both individual and collective performance levels. This highly qualified person will actively collaborate with all Technical Staff (Academy and First Team), including Strength and Performance, Athletic Training and Medical Staffs, and Video Analysis and Scouting Departments.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Technical Staff to support the development of the emerging talents within the Pre-Professional Phase (U17, U19, U23).
  • Design personalized training sessions and development plans for technical, tactical, positional and holistic growth of individuals.
  • Design both individual and team benchmarks (KPI’s) that can be utilized to improve and monitor development.
  • Support development of teams and players through both on-field and video learning.
  • Support and align with our club’s development objectives, including learning and contributing to our Game Model, Game Principles and evolving Methodology.
  • Provide technical support for the U17 (MLS Next) and U23 teams (MLS - National Competition).
  • Provide technical support for the U19 program (UPSL- Local and Regional Competition).
  • Work closely with Academy Director to design and support ongoing coach development efforts.

  • USSF A or UEFA A preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong teaching background.
  • Strength in methodology, planning and periodization.
  • 5-10 years of high-level coaching experience in Pre-Professional Phase (U17, U19, U23).
  • Demonstrated experience and results in developing successful individuals and teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, plan and teach developmental concepts to both young players and coaches.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic team, while exercising sound judgement and discretion.
  • Ability and competency utilizing Video Analysis software (HUDL/ SportsCode/ Wyscout).
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
